A new Pokémon Legends Galar leak is making waves online after a source claimed the next entry in the Legends series could drastically change the way Pokémon games play.

According to the leak, the project — reportedly called Pokémon Legends: Galar or Project Ringo — may introduce Pikmin-style gameplay where players command groups of up to 30 Pokémon at once.

The information comes from a post by the leaker Light, who shared several details about the rumored project on social media.

However, it’s important to note that none of this has been officially confirmed by Nintendo or Game Freak.

Pokémon Legends Galar Leak Story Set in Ancient Galar

The leak claims the game would be set in ancient Galar, roughly 1,000 years before the events of Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Unlike traditional Pokémon games, Poké Balls reportedly would not exist yet, meaning players would rely on forming alliances with wild Pokémon.

According to the Pokémon Legends Galar leak, the gameplay would focus on:

    • Commanding groups of up to 30 Pokémon
    • Fighting massive Dynamax-style enemies
    • Strategic positioning and group combat
    • Environmental interactions between Pokémon and terrain

The leak describes the game’s design philosophy as “AI × Physics”, suggesting that Pokémon behavior, movement, and interactions with the world could play a larger role than in previous titles.

    A Pikmin-Style Pokémon Game?

The most surprising detail from the Pokémon Legends Galar leak is the claim that the game could adopt mechanics similar to Pikmin, where players command large groups of creatures to solve problems and fight enemies.

Instead of the traditional six-Pokémon battle system, players would reportedly lead large squads of Pokémon simultaneously.

These groups could then be used to battle giant Dynamax-style creatures, explore environments, and interact with objects in the world.

If true, this would represent one of the biggest gameplay shifts in the Pokémon series.

Story Premise: Creating the First Gigamax Poké Ball

The leak also suggests the main objective of the game could involve crafting the first Gigamax Poké Ball using ancient technology.

Because the story takes place long before modern Pokémon training systems existed, the game would focus more on survival, alliances, and large-scale battles rather than traditional gym challenges.

The setting would explore the early history of the Galar region, which first appeared in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

    Fans Are Divided

As expected, the rumor has already sparked mixed reactions online.

Some fans are excited about the idea of the Pokémon series experimenting with new mechanics.

Others are skeptical about the Pikmin-like gameplay concept, arguing that commanding 30 Pokémon at once would move the series too far away from its traditional formula.

Some commenters have also suggested that the project could have changed direction or been canceled during development, though there is currently no confirmation of that.

Pokémon Legends Galar Leak Should Be Taken With Caution

Like many Pokémon rumors, the Pokémon Legends Galar leak should be taken with caution.

Game Freak has not announced any new Legends title beyond Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which is currently expected to launch first.

Still, if the leak turns out to be accurate, the next Legends game could be one of the most experimental Pokémon titles ever created.
