Annihilated will launch for PC via Steam on November 10, developer Death Kumiai and publisher Flashlight Games have confirmed. The dark story-driven roguelite RPG was previously scheduled for July 22 before being delayed into the fourth quarter of 2026 to allow additional time for balance adjustments and general polish. The new date now gives the game a firm release target within that delayed window.
Annihilated begins after a traditional hero’s party has already been defeated deep inside a dungeon. Players take control of the sole surviving member of a rescue squad and must choose only one member of the broken party to save. Each of the four characters has suffered a different fate, with the Hero losing the ability to speak freely, the Mage losing their magic and the Warrior losing their physical body.
That decision forms the basis of four separate character routes, each built around escaping the dungeon while learning more about the chosen survivor. The game combines visual-novel-style character interactions with roguelite dungeon exploration and card-based battles. Its Steam description emphasizes repeated runs, random events and high lethality rather than a straightforward linear RPG structure.

Combat revolves around selecting cards while also using timed inputs during attacks and defensive actions. Players can build around different cards and weapons as they progress, while certain mechanics allow weapons to be deliberately shattered for additional damage. Death Kumiai has also described the game as having multiple endings, meaning choices made during a run can affect how each route develops.
The project has attracted a relatively strong level of interest for a small independent RPG. Death Kumiai announced in May that Annihilated had passed 100,000 Steam wishlists, following earlier milestones of 50,000 and 70,000 during and after Steam Next Fest. A playable demo was available earlier in the year before being removed in March so the development team could focus on finishing the full version and improving localization.
Annihilated was originally expected to arrive much earlier. Death Kumiai announced the July 22 date in April, but Flashlight Games postponed the release on July 9 and moved it to the October-to-December quarter. The publisher said development was already in its final stages at the time, but the team wanted additional room to refine game feel and battle balance rather than ship immediately after completing bug fixes.
The developer’s accompanying message said the game had already passed Steam’s review process and technically could have been prepared for the July launch. Instead, the team wanted time to repeatedly play through the completed build and make smaller balance adjustments that would have been difficult to complete under the original schedule. November 10 now places the final release almost four months after that first planned date.
Annihilated uses hand-drawn artwork and includes a scenario said to contain roughly 150,000 words across its routes. Music is composed by NINOMIYA Yuji, while the game supports English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Its mixture of cute character presentation and darker horror-oriented themes is a deliberate part of the game’s identity, with the story focusing on the damage suffered by the party before the player even arrives.
The November release adds another PC RPG to an already busy month for smaller Steam launches. Unlike several upcoming titles entering Early Access during the same period, Annihilated is being positioned as a full release rather than an unfinished development build. Death Kumiai has not announced console versions, so PC via Steam remains the only confirmed platform.
With the date now set, the main remaining question is whether the additional development time delivers the balance and polish the team was seeking when it postponed the game in July. Annihilated will launch on November 10, bringing its four-route dungeon escape story to Steam after several months of additional development.
