New Assassin’s Creed Hexe story and character details have reportedly surfaced through casting material connected to Ubisoft’s upcoming game. MP1st says it obtained information from casting calls conducted between 2023 and recent months, including descriptions for the apparent protagonist, her family and several supporting characters. The names used during casting are believed to be internal placeholders and may not appear in the finished game, so the details should be treated as development information rather than final canon.
The central character is referred to as “Petra” in the casting material and is described as a passionate, strong-willed woman in her mid-twenties. According to MP1st, she is characterized as a dutiful daughter but also a radical thinker who refuses to accept the restrictive position society has assigned to her. That description broadly fits Ubisoft’s official characterization of Hexe as a darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed experience set during a pivotal historical period, though Ubisoft has not publicly confirmed Petra or any of the leaked characters.
Two other casting roles, “Brigitte” and “Konrad,” appear to represent Petra’s parents. Brigitte is described as a compassionate woman in her early forties who works as a midwife, while Konrad is portrayed as religious, caring and strongly committed to his family despite having what the casting material calls a “dirty job.” MP1st connects that description with separate information indicating that the protagonist’s father may serve as the headsman of Neustadt, giving the family an unusually grim position within the community.

The leak also outlines several figures outside Petra’s immediate family. A character called “Bruno” is described as a commanding, patriarchal personality with a crude sense of humor, while “Anton” is presented as intelligent and ambitious, maintaining a respectable public appearance while operating less openly behind the scenes. Previous reports have additionally mentioned a character named Wolfgang who could act as a mentor to the protagonist, although the relationship between these individual pieces of information remains unconfirmed.
Because the material comes from casting calls, it offers a different kind of evidence from conventional game leaks. Casting descriptions are written to communicate personality, age, relationships and dramatic context to potential performers, meaning they can reveal genuine development intentions while still using temporary names or deliberately obscured details. Characters can also be rewritten, merged or removed during production, especially when material spans several years of development.
Ubisoft itself has remained deliberately restrained about Hexe. In March 2026, the publisher said the project is being built by a veteran Ubisoft Montreal team and described it as a “unique, darker, narrative-driven” Assassin’s Creed experience set during an important historical period. Jean Guesdon, who returned to the franchise and became Hexe’s creative director, also stressed that the team is giving the project the development time it needs rather than committing publicly to a release schedule.
Earlier official comments have similarly positioned Hexe as something different from the large open-world RPG structure associated with games such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Shadows. When the project was originally announced, Ubisoft said Montreal would explore a separate creative direction intended to keep the franchise varied rather than simply repeating the same design formula. The apparent emphasis on one protagonist, her family and a tightly defined social environment in the casting material would be consistent with that more narrative-focused approach, although it does not confirm the final gameplay structure.
One element that remains particularly uncertain is how much of the reported family background will survive into the finished game. Casting names such as Petra, Brigitte, Konrad, Bruno and Anton could all change before release, and descriptions prepared for auditions may omit or disguise important plot information. Claims connecting the protagonist to other established Assassin’s Creed bloodlines also remain rumors and have not been acknowledged by Ubisoft.
For now, the casting material provides one of the clearest unofficial glimpses yet at the kind of story Ubisoft Montreal may be building around Assassin’s Creed Hexe. Rather than confirming individual plot points, it suggests a story centered on a young woman pushing against social expectations while navigating a complicated family and community. Ubisoft has yet to formally reveal Hexe’s protagonist, setting details or release date, leaving the casting information unconfirmed until the publisher begins its full marketing campaign.
