New Fortnite material has surfaced showing Persona 5 protagonist Joker in-game ahead of the crossover’s September 25 release. The images and footage were highlighted by Fortnite leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR, who credited BendyFNT and SamLeakss with spotting the material. The leak also provides another look at Joker’s associated emote, expanding on cosmetic details that had previously been uncovered through Fortnite’s files.
Epic Games has officially confirmed that Persona 5 content is coming to Fortnite on September 25, but its recent teaser deliberately kept the incoming characters largely obscured. The Phantom Thieves appeared primarily as silhouettes, leaving their full Fortnite models unrevealed through official channels. The newly circulated material therefore provides a clearer look at how Joker has been translated into Fortnite’s visual style before Epic publishes the complete cosmetic lineup.
Joker’s Fortnite appearance had already been partially visible in promotional material connected to Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, but the latest images offer a much more direct view of the Outfit itself. Previous datamining indicated that the Persona 5 protagonist would receive multiple cosmetic components, including an Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Wrap, Kicks, Guitar, Emoticon and Emote. The datamined Joker cosmetic set established that the collaboration would extend well beyond a single character skin.
The Emote is particularly notable because earlier file analysis suggested that Joker would have a transformation-style animation tied to one of his alternate appearances. According to those earlier findings, Joker’s transformation emote can switch him between different styles rather than functioning as a conventional standalone animation. The new material appears to give players their first visual indication of how that feature will look in Fortnite, although Epic has yet to publish the full official demonstration.
Dataminers have previously identified Joker’s alternate appearance as being connected to Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight, alongside his more familiar Phantom Thief design. Ann Takamaki is also part of the crossover and is expected to receive her own alternate style, though previous leaks indicated she does not use the same transformation-emote setup. Fortnite’s files have additionally pointed to mask toggles and other variant-related options for the pair, forming part of a broader Joker and Ann cosmetic lineup.
The crossover extends beyond the two playable Outfits. Morgana is expected to appear as a Sidekick and Sprite, while vehicle content based on the character has also been connected to the collaboration through Fortnite and Rocket League. A Persona-themed Match Override was found in the v42.20 files as well, indicating that the crossover will affect gameplay in addition to adding Item Shop cosmetics.
Epic’s September 20 teaser confirmed that the Phantom Thieves are arriving on September 25, giving the previously leaked collaboration a firm launch date. The official video appears to feature Joker, Ann and Morgana, although Epic has still not formally detailed every cosmetic or its pricing. That leaves the newly surfaced Joker material as an unofficial preview rather than the final presentation players will see in the Item Shop.
With only a few days remaining before release, a full Epic Games reveal is likely to clarify the exact styles, bundle contents and pricing. For now, the leaked images provide the clearest look yet at Joker’s Fortnite model and reinforce earlier datamined information surrounding his transformation Emote and alternate appearance.
