Fortnite Datamine Points to Custom Battle Pass Offers

Fortnite may be testing personalized Battle Pass incentives after new datamined strings referenced both a 200 V-Bucks discount and five additional levels. ShiinaBR highlighted the entries on September 16, pointing to internal labels named “CustomBPOfferVBucks” and “CustomBPOfferBonusLevels.” Epic Games has not announced such a system, so the discovery should be treated as unfinished backend functionality rather than confirmation that custom offers will reach players.

The most notable string is “200 V-Bucks Off,” which appears to describe a discounted Battle Pass offer. Fortnite’s current Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass officially costs 800 V-Bucks, meaning a 200 V-Bucks reduction would bring that price down to 600 V-Bucks if the string is used literally. Epic currently also includes Battle Pass access through Fortnite Crew, but there is no public system that selectively reduces the pass price for individual players.

The second string, “5 Extra Levels,” points to another possible incentive tied directly to progression. The internal name suggests Epic may be experimenting with granting bonus Battle Pass levels as part of a targeted offer, potentially giving some players a head start on unlocking rewards. The datamine does not reveal what conditions would trigger the offer, who could receive it or whether the discounted price and bonus levels would appear together.

That lack of context matters because development builds regularly contain strings, assets and systems that never make it into the live game. The presence of named offer fields indicates Epic has at least prepared backend support or interface text for the concept, but it does not establish a launch date or even guarantee that the feature will be released. No matching announcement currently appears on Fortnite’s official Battle Pass page or Epic’s public support documentation.

A personalized Battle Pass offer would represent a notable change in how Epic sells Fortnite’s seasonal progression. The current pass is presented as a standard product with the same listed V-Bucks price for players, while discounts are more commonly associated with bundled cosmetics in the Item Shop. Fortnite has already become more flexible about older pass content, with Chapter 6 Season 1 Battle Pass items reportedly being prepared for future Shop availability under Epic’s newer non-exclusivity policy.

Epic has also continued changing how older Battle Pass cosmetics are sold outside their original seasons. Remix Battle Pass bundles recently surfaced through datamining, while several Chapter 2 Remix skins later returned to the Item Shop as separately purchasable cosmetics. Those changes concern content availability rather than the price of an active pass, but they show that Epic is willing to keep adjusting the commercial structure surrounding Battle Pass rewards.

The bonus-level portion of the datamine could be particularly useful as a retention or conversion incentive. Five levels would give a player immediate progress without changing the underlying reward track, making it possible for Epic to encourage a late-season purchase without directly altering XP requirements. Current Fortnite support information still describes Battle Pass progression as XP-based, with levels unlocking access to reward pages throughout the season.

What remains unknown is whether these offers would be personalized based on account activity, displayed universally during a promotion or used only in specific circumstances. The “Custom” naming suggests some level of targeted configuration, but the strings alone do not reveal Epic’s criteria. It is also unclear whether the offers would appear only to players who have not purchased the Battle Pass, to returning players, or to users near the end of a season.

For now, the discovery provides evidence that Epic is testing or preparing new Battle Pass offer types internally, but not that a rollout is imminent. The two identified incentives are a 200 V-Bucks discount and five extra levels, with no confirmed eligibility rules, release timing or final pricing structure. Unless Epic announces the feature publicly or the offers begin appearing on live accounts, they should be treated as experimental Fortnite functionality rather than a confirmed monetization change.
