Fortnite’s decrypted Mega Man files have provided another clear confirmation of the crossover’s three-character lineup, with LEGO variants identifying Mega Man, Mega Man X and Zero by name. Dataminer FireMonkey shared the newly decrypted models on September 7, listing the characters as Mega Man (Dual Override), Mega Man X and Zero (Mega Man). Epic Games has not yet formally unveiled the complete outfit lineup through its main Fortnite channels.
The LEGO versions are significant because Fortnite outfits that support compatible LEGO experiences receive separate minifigure-style models. In this case, the decrypted variants are attached to three distinct Mega Man characters rather than presenting X or Zero merely as alternate appearances for the base Mega Man outfit. That further establishes Mega Man, X and Zero as the three characters contained in the collaboration’s previously encrypted cosmetic set.
Mega Man’s naming is also notable. The decrypted LEGO model specifically identifies him as “Mega Man (Dual Override),” tying the Fortnite version of the Blue Bomber to Capcom’s upcoming Mega Man: Dual Override rather than leaving the character’s design unspecified. Capcom has confirmed Dual Override as a new mainline Mega Man game scheduled for 2027, although the Fortnite files do not indicate any deeper crossover content with the upcoming title beyond the character design.

Mega Man X and Zero complete the trio. X is the protagonist of the Mega Man X branch of the franchise, while Zero became one of that series’ central characters after debuting in the original Mega Man X in 1993. Their presence resolves uncertainty that existed when the encrypted Fortnite package was first discovered, when only Mega Man was securely identified and other candidates such as Proto Man and Bass were being discussed.
Zero had already become increasingly difficult to rule out after a Fortnite teaser showed the character ahead of the crossover’s expected release. The newly decrypted material goes further by naming both Zero and Mega Man X alongside the Dual Override version of Mega Man. Together, the files now provide a consistent picture of the collaboration’s three playable characters.
Additional decrypted data has revealed several presentation options for the outfits. Mega Man, X and Zero reportedly include alternatives that change their cel-shaded appearance, while other surfaced styles include Atomic Fire and Black Zero variants. The presence of separate LEGO models adds another supported format for the characters when they are used in Fortnite experiences that display LEGO-style outfits.
Epic has officially confirmed that Mega Man is part of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Its season announcement placed the franchise among a larger collection of gaming crossovers that includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, Persona 5 Royal, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Crash Bandicoot and others. Mega Man’s Mega Buster is already available as a seasonal weapon, while the wider cosmetic collaboration has been decrypting progressively ahead of its rollout.
The crossover is also receiving competitive support. Epic’s official competitive site now lists the Override Series: Mega Man Cup for September 8, including Battle Royale and Zero Build Duos events alongside a separate Mobile Cup. The event description says top competitors can earn Mega Man cosmetic rewards and confirms an Override Buster Blast Spray for players who secure five eliminations with the Mega Buster.
That official tournament listing confirms Mega Man activity is beginning immediately, but it still does not amount to a full Item Shop reveal for all three outfits. Epic has yet to publish final bundle pricing or a complete storefront breakdown for Mega Man, X and Zero. Datamined information should therefore still be treated as pre-release material until the cosmetics appear in-game or Epic announces them directly.
For now, the decrypted LEGO variants remove most of the remaining uncertainty around the character lineup. Fortnite’s Mega Man collaboration contains identifiable models for Mega Man from Dual Override, Mega Man X and Zero, with all three also represented in LEGO form. The remaining questions largely concern final pricing, bundle structure and the timing of their Item Shop availability.
