A Steam achievement set for Horizon Hunters Gathering has surfaced online despite Guerrilla Games’ co-op Horizon spin-off still having no release date. The list appeared through achievement-tracking site Exophase and corresponds with the game’s existing Steam listing, which already advertises Steam Achievements as a supported feature. However, several signs suggest the currently surfaced entries may be development placeholders rather than a finalized launch achievement list.
The most notable entry referenced in the surfaced data instructs players to “Unlock your first Battle Pass page.” That wording is significant because Bloomberg reported in August that Guerrilla was substantially reworking Hunters Gathering after negative playtest feedback, with the studio reportedly moving away from the project’s live-service structure. If the achievement data predates that overhaul, the Battle Pass reference could represent a feature from an older version of the game rather than something still planned for release.
Other observations around the Exophase listing similarly point toward unfinished data. The achievements currently appear without finalized artwork, while names and descriptions have been described as unusually functional or placeholder-like rather than the polished titles normally associated with a finished trophy or achievement set. That makes the database useful for understanding systems Guerrilla has developed, but much less reliable as evidence of what will definitely survive into the final product.

The appearance of a populated achievement set is nevertheless notable because Horizon Hunters Gathering remains listed simply as “Coming soon” on Steam. Valve’s storefront confirms Guerrilla as developer and PlayStation Publishing LLC as publisher, with Steam Achievements, online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer currently listed among its supported features. Similar backend discoveries have previously exposed information about unreleased games, including Steam achievements associated with Persona 6 and Persona 4 Revival, although pre-release database information can change before launch.
Guerrilla officially announced Horizon Hunters Gathering in February 2026 as a tactical cooperative action game for PS5 and PC. Teams of up to three Hunters tackle machine-focused missions using distinct weapons and abilities, with roguelite perks allowing players to adjust their builds between and during hunts. The studio initially detailed Machine Incursion, a wave-based activity ending in a boss encounter, and Cauldron Descent, a longer mode featuring changing rooms, machine encounters and hidden rewards.
The game’s Steam page has since revealed more about its narrative framework. Humanity is threatened by corrupted machines under the rogue AI HEPHAESTUS, with players joining the Gathering and progressing through an unfolding campaign. Between missions, players return to a shared safe haven where they can customize their camp, improve equipment and develop relationships with allies.
Hunters Gathering also went through multiple closed tests earlier this year. A May test introduced two additional Hunters, Ensa and Shadow, joining Rem, Sun and Axle, while also adding a playable story episode set in Ashwater Valley. Guerrilla continued gathering feedback from both PS5 and PC players, but reports later indicated that reception to internal and public testing prompted a much larger rethink of the project.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported on August 19 that Guerrilla had been rebooting Hunters Gathering since June, stripping away its live-service elements and shifting toward a smaller, more traditional cooperative game with a stronger story component. The project was reportedly not cancelled, but Guerrilla was said to have until December to demonstrate progress on the revised direction. Sony and Guerrilla have not publicly detailed the extent of that reported overhaul.
That timing makes the newly surfaced achievements particularly difficult to interpret. A Battle Pass reference could indicate that some live-service mechanics remain, but it could just as plausibly be leftover backend data created before Guerrilla changed direction. Achievement records can be uploaded well before release and do not necessarily reflect the latest internal build.
For now, the Steam data confirms that achievement infrastructure exists for Horizon Hunters Gathering, but the surfaced list should not be treated as final. With the game still carrying no release date and its development direction reportedly changing, individual achievement descriptions may reveal more about where the project has been than where it ultimately ends up.
