Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver are bringing Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The new version was announced during Nintendo’s September 9 Direct and bundles the base game with its premium story expansions, exclusive equipment and additional quest content. A specific release date has not yet been announced.

The Royal Edition will include all three major story expansions released for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II: Brushes with Death, Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesiae. Additional content includes the Gallant Huntsman’s Kit, Shields of Seasons Passing and The Lion’s Crest quest. That makes the Switch 2 release a complete package rather than a straightforward port of the original base game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II follows Henry of Skalitz through 15th-century Bohemia as he becomes caught in a conflict involving revenge, loyalty and political upheaval. The first-person RPG emphasizes player choice, allowing situations to be approached through direct combat, stealth, persuasion and other character skills. Quests can develop differently depending on Henry’s decisions, reputation and relationships with the people he encounters.

Warhorse is also adapting the game around Switch 2 hardware. Features currently planned for the port include Joy-Con 2 mouse-mode support and HDR, while the studio is targeting an upscaled 1080p presentation in handheld mode and up to an upscaled 1440p when docked, depending on the connected display. The Switch 2 version is also set to receive an enlarged menu interface designed to remain readable on the system’s smaller portable screen.

Those technical targets are notable considering the scale of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. The game originally launched on February 4, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with its large open environments, dense settlements and simulation-heavy systems designed around considerably more powerful hardware than the original Nintendo Switch. Warhorse has not yet provided detailed frame-rate targets or a complete breakdown of visual compromises required for the Switch 2 version.

The first Kingdom Come: Deliverance is already available on Nintendo Switch after Saber Interactive adapted the original game for Nintendo’s previous-generation hardware. That version can also be played on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, meaning Nintendo players will eventually be able to experience both chapters of Henry’s story on the newer system. The series has also remained active on other platforms, with the original game previously linked to a possible current-generation console upgrade.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II expands substantially on its predecessor’s medieval simulation systems. Players manage equipment, hunger, cleanliness and reputation while developing Henry’s abilities through use, and combat relies on directional attacks, blocking and positioning rather than conventional action-RPG button combinations. The sequel also expands the world across multiple major regions, including the city of Kuttenberg and its surrounding countryside.

Bringing that complete experience to Switch 2 adds another large third-party RPG to Nintendo’s growing catalog. Publishers have increasingly used the stronger hardware to bring games to Nintendo that either skipped the original Switch or required heavily modified versions. Recent examples range from native releases such as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition to new projects being developed directly for the platform.

For Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, however, the Royal Edition approach means Switch 2 players will receive the post-launch story content alongside the main adventure instead of beginning with the original 2025 package. The three premium expansions add new storylines and activities while the additional equipment and quest packs collect smaller pieces of previously released content into the same edition.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition launches for Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027. Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver have yet to announce a precise release date, price or final performance specifications, but the confirmed package will include the base game, all premium story expansions, exclusive gear and bonus quest content.
