The Assassin’s Creed franchise has been around for a long time, and it seems like the perfect moment to relive some classic games in the series with modern-day graphics through remakes. Well, it seems like we are in luck.

In a recent interview on the Ubisoft website, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot discussed the future of the Assassin’s Creed series and what players can look forward to in the coming years. He confirmed that several Assassin’s Creed remakes are currently in the works.

Importance: This is the first time Ubisoft will be remaking a game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, marking an important step for the developer. If they can execute the remakes properly, it could further enhance the popularity of Assassin’s Creed and solidify its legacy in the gaming industry.

The Assassin’s Creed Franchise Is More Than 16 Years Old

He emphasized that the worlds in many of the older Assassin’s Creed games remain rich and full of potential.

In addition to remakes, Guillemot mentioned that Ubisoft aims to offer a wide range of experiences within the Assassin’s Creed franchise. He stated:

“The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year.”

He also teased upcoming titles like Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which will differ significantly from Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising to surprise players with new and unique gameplay.

Last year, reports emerged that Ubisoft had begun developing a remake of the popular Assassin’s Creed entry Black Flag. Sources indicated that this project was in its early stages and would not be completed for several years.

While Ubisoft has not previously remade any Assassin’s Creed games, the company has released several remasters. The Ezio Collection, which includes remastered versions of Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, was released in 2016. This was followed by a remastered version of Assassin’s Creed Rogue in 2018.

This is a great opportunity for Ubisoft do something similar to what Capcom did with their Resident Evil remakes. Capcom’s successful approach of staying true to the original game while incorporating some innovation and modern-day visuals gives their remakes a golden touch. We hope to see the same quality and respect for the originals in the Assassin’s Creed remakes.

    Assassin's Creed Shadows

The future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise looks very promising, with numerous new games in development. The next title in the series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, is set to release on November 15 this year.

We are very excited and looking forward to how the future shapes up for the franchise, as it has had a fantastic run and has cemented its name in the gaming industry.
