MW4 Resurgence Beta Update Rebalances Krait P68 and UAVs

Infinity Ward has rolled out another Modern Warfare 4 Resurgence Open Beta update, making a substantial balance pass to the Krait P68 alongside changes to UAVs, footstep audio, camera movement and several gameplay issues.

The August 29 update was confirmed through the official Call of Duty Updates account and detailed in Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 4 beta patch notes.

The most notable weapon change affects the Krait P68 pistol.

Its maximum damage has increased from 42 to 46, while its first mid-range damage value has risen from 37 to 39.

Those buffs come with shorter ranges at the closest damage tiers. Maximum damage now extends to 10.2 meters instead of 12 meters, while the first mid-range band ends at 20.5 meters instead of 21.8 meters.

The weapon’s 33-damage range has been extended significantly, however, now reaching 38.1 meters rather than ending at 31.2 meters.

Minimum damage remains unchanged at 29 beyond that point.

Infinity Ward has simultaneously reduced several of the Krait P68’s body multipliers.

Its headshot multiplier has dropped from 1.4x to 1.3x, while the neck and upper-torso multipliers have both been reduced to 1x from 1.15x.

The result is a weapon with stronger base damage at close and medium distances but less additional reward from certain precision hits.

The .50 GS also receives a loadout adjustment in Warzone, replacing the Corvus LVL-40 and ZLR Type C attachments with the XRK Mil-Tac Suppressor and Cronen R808.

Outside weapon balancing, Infinity Ward has changed how UAVs operate in the Resurgence beta.

Calling multiple UAVs will no longer combine them into an Advanced UAV.

That removes a method of obtaining stronger map information simply by stacking the standard Killstreak and changes how squads will need to manage UAV usage during a match.

The update also adjusts footstep audio.

Infinity Ward says audible footstep distances have been changed to more closely match the current live Warzone experience, including restoring the previous maximum hearing distance.

Audio has been one of the systems the developers have continued tuning during the beta, with Infinity Ward saying further adjustments are possible as it evaluates player feedback.

Players now have additional control over camera presentation as well.

The first-person camera movement setting can be reduced as low as 25%, which is labeled as the Minimal option.

Infinity Ward warns that this setting may reset when switching between Multiplayer and Warzone, so players may need to reapply their preference.

A separate HUD Widget Shake option allows players to disable screen-interface shaking entirely.

The update also prevents several Resurgence-specific problems.

Infinity Ward has fixed an issue that could leave players stuck in Spectator Mode after elimination and another that caused some players to disconnect during Resurgence matches.

The Field Medic perk should now correctly display its increased downed health, while dropped Heartbeat Sensors should no longer instantly lose their battery charge.

Empty Loot Cards have also been addressed.

Several audio bugs were fixed at the same time, including overly prominent Loot Box sounds passing through environmental occlusion and missing occlusion effects on some other loot audio.

The Bombing Run Killstreak should also no longer appear pingable when there is no active Killstreak in the marked area.

Infinity Ward has been updating the Modern Warfare 4 beta rapidly throughout its second weekend, with larger changes already made to movement, time-to-kill, aim assist, spawns and Multiplayer weapon balance.

Resurgence is playable on the new Zodiac map during the Open Beta, giving Infinity Ward, Raven Software and Beenox an opportunity to test the next version of Warzone before launch.

The current Open Beta is scheduled to remain available through September 1, giving the developers another window to collect feedback and make further adjustments before Modern Warfare 4’s full release.
