Phantom Blade Zero has reached a new peak of 833,921 concurrent players on Steam, extending the action RPG’s strong launch performance just days after release. The milestone was recorded on November 1, 2026, with SteamDB’s most-played games chart confirming the figure and placing S-GAME’s title among the platform’s most active games.
The new record represents a substantial increase from the 431,541 concurrent players recorded during its launch period on October 29. That is an increase of 402,380 simultaneous players, nearly doubling the earlier milestone as the game continues through its opening weekend.
SteamDB’s live rankings also placed Phantom Blade Zero ahead of Dota 2 and PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS at the time of the new peak. Counter-Strike 2 remained ahead, while Phantom Blade Zero occupied the second position among Steam’s most-played games.

The result further establishes Phantom Blade Zero as the biggest single-player Steam launch of 2026 by peak concurrent players. Its performance is particularly notable because the game is primarily a single-player action RPG rather than a multiplayer title built around persistent online engagement.
Player reception has also remained positive as the audience has expanded. SteamDB recorded approximately 89.6% positive user reviews across more than 68,000 reviews, while its weighted rating stood at approximately 88.17%. The figures indicate that the game has maintained a broadly favorable reception despite the rapid increase in players.
Critical reception has followed a similar pattern. Phantom Blade Zero earned a Metacritic score of 88, with reviewers highlighting its martial arts combat, boss encounters and weapon variety. Some criticism has focused on its storytelling and technical issues.
Developed by S-GAME Studio and published by S-GAME Publishing, Phantom Blade Zero launched for PC and PlayStation 5 in late October. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game combines wuxia-inspired martial arts with fast-paced action combat and follows Soul, a warrior attempting to uncover a conspiracy while facing a limited lifespan.
Its PC release also received a 5 GB day-one patch addressing performance and technical issues, including improvements related to ray tracing. Those launch adjustments accompanied the game’s rapidly growing Steam audience.
The 833,921-player milestone measures simultaneous users on Steam rather than total sales or unique players. It also excludes PlayStation 5 players, meaning the figure does not represent the game’s complete audience across platforms.
With the latest record arriving during its first weekend, Phantom Blade Zero has continued gaining concurrent players beyond its initial launch-day achievements. The new peak provides another measurable indicator of the game’s successful PC debut, although total sales figures cannot be determined from Steam concurrency alone.
