Worship will leave Steam Early Access and launch on PlayStation 5 on November 4, 2026, developer Chasing Rats Games has announced. The date marks the game’s full 1.0 release on PC while also bringing the cult-management roguelite to consoles for the first time. The studio has also confirmed that another console version is being discussed with a platform partner and is currently targeted for 2027.

The announcement comes alongside a final Early Access update called The End is Nigh, which is available now on Steam. Chasing Rats Games says this update is primarily focused on gameplay adjustments, balance changes and bug fixes rather than adding major new content. The studio is deliberately holding back the larger additions for the November 4 launch, describing the current update as preparation for the full release.

Worship originally entered Steam Early Access on July 16, 2025. The game is built around commanding a growing cult in service of eldritch gods, with players drawing ritual symbols in blood, converting followers and sending those followers into combat. Chasing Rats Games describes it as a Pikmin-inspired roguelite, combining follower management with exploration, real-time combat and procedurally structured runs.

Version 1.0 is expected to be the largest update the game has received so far. Previously announced additions include a new account-progression system called Eldritch Prophecies, which will let players complete objectives to unlock permanent upgrades, additional content, lore entries and cosmetic rewards. The full release will also add the Cabal Marshlands as a final area and Mortals’ Last Stand as the game’s final Test of Faith.

Another major 1.0 change involves the way followers are managed. Worship will introduce a follower cap that grows as a cult progresses during a run, while excess followers can be stored at the cult base and summoned later to replace losses. Different gods and god aspects will have their own follower limits, giving the system another role in defining individual playstyles.

God Aspects are also being added as alternate versions of Worship’s existing deities. Rather than requiring the team to build completely new gods with unique art, music and communication sequences, these aspects explore different facets of An-Ansgaidh, Hubryus and Kessessa while still offering their own upgrades, starting conditions and gameplay mechanics. Chasing Rats Games previously said this approach allowed it to add three substantial new playstyle variants for 1.0.

The full launch will also introduce additional encounters, upgrades, rituals, enemies and fast-travel options. Completing major encounters will create portals back to the cult base, while another portal ritual can be unlocked through the Eldritch Prophecies progression system. The developer has continued adjusting core mechanics throughout Early Access based on player feedback, particularly follower strength, ritual use and general run balance.

One previously planned feature will not make the November release. Chasing Rats Games confirmed earlier this year that multiplayer has been removed from the 1.0 development scope because implementing it would have required substantial netcode work. The studio instead chose to prioritize completing the single-player version, while leaving open the possibility of revisiting multiplayer and additional post-launch content if the game’s full release performs well.

The PS5 version will arrive on the same day as the PC 1.0 update. Chasing Rats Games says it had originally hoped to announce another console platform at the same time, but discussions with that partner are still ongoing. The unnamed version is now being targeted for 2027, with more information expected once those talks are complete.

Worship will also be playable at Tokyo Game Show 2026 as part of the event’s Indie 80 selection. The developer is bringing its latest build to the show while preparing for the final stretch of development ahead of November. The End is Nigh update is available now for existing Steam Early Access players, with Worship 1.0 and the PS5 version both launching November 4.
