Bluey’s Happy Snaps will launch on October 15, 2026, giving Gameloft’s family-focused adventure a firm release date after previously being scheduled only for later this year. The date was revealed during the September 9 Nintendo Direct, where the game appeared in Nintendo’s broader Switch and Switch 2 lineup. Happy Snaps is also coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Developed by Gameloft Brisbane in collaboration with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios, Bluey’s Happy Snaps is built around photography and exploration rather than a conventional level-based structure. Bluey and Bingo find Dad’s old camera and take it around their home and familiar locations throughout Brisbane, photographing wildlife, characters and moments inspired by the animated series. Each picture can be saved into a scrapbook that players customize with collected stickers and decorations.

The environments draw directly from places and episodes Bluey viewers will recognize. Players can explore areas based on locations featured in episodes including “Ice Cream” and “The Sign,” while Gameloft has also shown activities involving the family home, parks and other parts of Bluey’s hometown. Australian wildlife is incorporated throughout the environments, with animals such as lorikeets and koalas appearing as potential photography subjects.

Happy Snaps is designed with younger players and families in mind, with open-ended activities spread throughout its locations. Players can interact with toys, search for hidden surprises, chase bin chickens and take part in games inspired by the show rather than simply moving from one mission objective to another. Photography acts as the central mechanic connecting those activities, encouraging players to explore each area for new subjects and scrapbook material.

The game also supports two-player local play. A second player can join alongside the primary player to explore the environment and pose for photographs, while one player remains responsible for controlling the camera and leading the session. Gameloft has positioned the co-op setup as a way for children and parents or siblings to play together without turning Happy Snaps into a competitive multiplayer game.

Another feature, called Play for Real Life, extends some of the game’s ideas beyond the screen. Gameloft says Happy Snaps will include prompts designed to encourage children to take inspiration from the activities they encounter in-game and continue playing away from the console. The feature reflects the television series’ broader focus on imaginative play rather than treating the game purely as a digital collection of Bluey locations.

Happy Snaps was first announced in March 2026, when Gameloft confirmed it was developing the project in Brisbane, the same city where Bluey is set and produced. The announcement established the photography premise and broad 2026 launch window but did not provide a specific date. The October 15 confirmation now places the game roughly seven months after its initial reveal.

Both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions are planned, with the Switch 2 edition supporting touch-screen functionality according to Nintendo’s current store listing. Nintendo estimates the Switch 2 download at roughly 3.5GB, while the original Switch version is slightly smaller. The game supports one or two players on a single system.

Digital versions are planned across all announced platforms, while physical editions are also expected for PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in selected markets. Bandai Namco Entertainment is handling physical distribution across several regions, including Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Americas.

Bluey’s Happy Snaps launches October 15, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. With the date now confirmed, the game’s release is positioned just over a month away, bringing its photography-focused take on Bluey’s world to consoles and PC ahead of the holiday season.
