Veewo Games will launch Neon Abyss 2 in full on October 8, 2026, bringing the roguelike sequel out of Steam Early Access and onto PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The developer confirmed the date during PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct 2026 with a new trailer that also introduced Theia, God of Vanity, as the game’s new final boss. The console versions will arrive alongside the PC 1.0 release.
Neon Abyss 2 first entered Steam Early Access on July 17, 2025, giving Veewo Games more than a year to expand and rebalance the sequel before its full launch. The game retains the fast side-scrolling run-and-gun structure of the original while adding online cooperative play for up to four players. Its core progression still revolves around stacking large numbers of items and weapons to create increasingly unusual synergies during each run.
The release-date trailer places particular emphasis on Theia, a new final encounter built around broken mirrors, gemstones and bright neon effects. Veewo Games describes the boss as a multi-phase fight designed to overwhelm players with flashes, shattering effects and increasingly aggressive attacks. Theia expands the endgame content available when Neon Abyss 2 reaches version 1.0 rather than simply marking the existing Early Access build as complete.

Four-player co-op is one of the biggest changes from the original Neon Abyss. Players can enter runs with up to three friends, combining different weapons, passive items and character abilities while dealing with the same procedurally generated stages and enemies. The sequel also broadens the number of combat styles available, ranging from conventional firearms to melee-focused builds and more unusual equipment.
The Faith system adds another layer to progression during runs. Players can spend Faith on powerful items, use it to recruit additional Hatchmon companions or risk it through chance-based mechanics. Hatchmon themselves return as collectible creatures that can evolve into stronger allies, giving players another source of passive support alongside the game’s extensive item combinations.
Neon Abyss 2 also leans further into minigames and side activities. The latest footage shows fishing, basketball, beach activities and other diversions alongside the main combat loop, giving runs more opportunities to break away from standard room-by-room encounters. Those systems sit alongside the game’s broader emphasis on unpredictable combinations and high-volume projectile combat.
The full release will also mark the game’s console debut. Xbox lists Neon Abyss 2 as optimized for Xbox Series X|S, with support for Xbox Play Anywhere, cloud saves, cross-platform co-op and frame rates of 60fps or higher. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions are also scheduled for October 8, giving the sequel a simultaneous multi-platform launch after its PC-only Early Access period.
Neon Abyss 2 follows a growing number of indie games moving from Early Access into full multiplatform releases. Similar transitions include Worship leaving Steam Early Access for its full release later this year, while other projects such as Witch the Showdown are only beginning their Early Access phase. For Neon Abyss 2, October 8 represents the point where its year-long development cycle becomes a complete commercial launch.
Neon Abyss 2 will release on October 8 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. With four-player co-op, the Faith system, expanded item synergies and Theia joining as the new final boss, version 1.0 is positioned as a substantial step beyond the game’s current Early Access build.
