The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch on October 29, 2026, giving Telltale’s updated version of its acclaimed narrative adventure a firm release date after previously being scheduled only for the holiday season.
Telltale Games and co-publisher PM Studios confirmed the date alongside a new release-date trailer. The remaster is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The October date is a more precise launch window than Telltale provided when the project was formally announced earlier this year. At the time, the company said The Wolf Among Us Remastered would arrive during Holiday 2026, while physical editions were planned to follow later in the holiday season.
The remaster includes all five episodes of the original game: Faith, Smoke and Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep’s Clothing and Cry Wolf. Players once again take control of Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown, as he investigates a murder that develops into a wider conspiracy involving the community of fairy-tale characters living secretly in modern-day New York.
Telltale says the new version has been rebuilt and refined for current platforms rather than being a straightforward rerelease. Improvements include enhanced visuals, refined character and environment presentation, an updated user interface and expanded accessibility features.
Technical upgrades cover animation, audio, resolution and frame rate, although Telltale has not publicly detailed every performance target for each individual platform. The objective is to modernize the presentation while retaining the choices, dialogue and investigation structure that defined the original release.
The remaster also includes more than an hour of additional material. Telltale previously confirmed that the bonus content will feature behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries and deleted scenes covering the development of The Wolf Among Us.
A newly highlighted Noir Mode also gives players another way to experience the game, shifting its presentation toward a black-and-white aesthetic that fits the detective-fiction influences behind Fabletown and Bigby’s investigation.
The Wolf Among Us Remastered was officially unveiled earlier in 2026 alongside renewed plans for The Wolf Among Us 2. Telltale confirmed in June that the sequel is now targeting a 2027 release, making the October remaster a chance for players to revisit the first story before the continuation arrives.
The original The Wolf Among Us was released episodically beginning in 2013 and is based on the Fables comic series published by DC’s Vertigo imprint. Its story follows characters drawn from folklore and fairy tales who have been forced into the human world, with Bigby attempting to maintain order while investigating increasingly violent events inside Fabletown.
The sequel is set after the events of the first game and will continue Bigby’s story, but Telltale has so far kept much of its plot and final release timing under wraps.
For now, the immediate date on the calendar is October 29. The Wolf Among Us Remastered will arrive digitally across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms, replacing the previously broader Holiday 2026 window with a confirmed launch just ahead of Halloween.
