GPD has confirmed that its upcoming Win Mini Ultra gaming handheld will feature Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme platform, marking a shift from the AMD processors used in previous Win Mini models. The company confirmed the hardware through a Weibo post on October 28, 2026, while sharing an episode of the Handhelds United podcast and signaling that an official launch is approaching.
The announcement confirms earlier leaks identifying Intel hardware inside the compact clamshell device. However, GPD has not disclosed a complete specifications sheet, retail pricing, or an exact release date.
Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme platform is based on the Panther Lake architecture and incorporates a 14-core CPU configuration consisting of two Performance cores, eight Efficient cores, and four Low Power Efficient cores. Its integrated Arc B390 GPU features 12 Xe3 graphics cores, positioning the processor as a potentially significant upgrade for portable PC gaming.

The move to Intel is particularly notable because previous Win Mini configurations offered AMD processors, including the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with Radeon 890M integrated graphics. The Arc B390’s newer graphics architecture could provide additional gaming performance, although direct comparisons will require independent testing of the finished handheld.
Intel’s expanding graphics ecosystem also includes software developments such as AMD FSR 4.1.2 running on Intel Arc GPUs through XMX acceleration, highlighting ongoing efforts to improve upscaling options for Arc hardware.
Beyond the confirmed processor, leaked specifications suggest the Win Mini Ultra will feature an 8-inch IPS display with a 1920 × 1200 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Adaptive Sync support. This would represent an increase from the 7-inch, 1920 × 1080 display used in the Win Mini 2025.
Preliminary specifications shared by GPD retailer DROIX also point to 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, an M.2 2280 SSD slot with PCIe 5.0 support, and two USB4 v2 ports reportedly capable of up to 80Gbps each.
Other unconfirmed details include a cooling system designed to accommodate processor power limits of up to 45W, a 56Wh battery, and support for 100W USB Power Delivery charging. The larger battery would offer greater capacity than the 44Wh unit in the previous Win Mini generation, although actual battery life remains unknown.
The larger chassis could also introduce a portability trade-off. Leaked figures suggest the Win Mini Ultra weighs approximately 845 grams, substantially more than the 555-gram Win Mini 2025. None of these reported specifications have been finalized publicly by GPD.
An engineering sample of the Win Mini Ultra also appeared in an October 24 video from Chinese content creator MuBuS. The footage showed the familiar clamshell layout with an integrated keyboard and gaming controls, alongside changes to the triggers and a dual-fan cooling arrangement. As the device shown was an engineering sample, its design and hardware details may differ from the retail version.
The upcoming handheld arrives as software support for integrated gaming graphics continues to develop. Microsoft’s expansion of Advanced Shader Delivery to Intel Arc hardware is another development relevant to reducing shader compilation overhead on supported gaming systems.
For now, Intel’s Arc G3 Extreme platform is the principal hardware detail confirmed by GPD. A crowdfunding launch is expected, but the company has not announced when orders will open, which configurations will be available, or how much the Win Mini Ultra will cost.
