S-GAME has released Phantom Blade Zero update 1.0302256 for PlayStation 5 and PC, reducing the difficulty of an early optional boss encounter while introducing several performance improvements and bug fixes. The November 4, 2026 patch adjusts Hua, Deadly Betrothed’s combat behavior, revises PC shader compilation to shorten startup times, and addresses Bluetooth controller stuttering and NVIDIA Reflex compatibility.
According to the official patch notes published on Steam, Hua, Deadly Betrothed now performs grab attacks less frequently on Wayfarer and Pathbreaker difficulties. The adjustment does not affect the game’s harder difficulty settings, including Hellwalker and 66 Days.
Hua is an optional boss encountered in the Weeping Creek Valley region, accessible through the Sha-Chi Tower. Her powerful grab attacks can make the encounter particularly challenging for players attempting it early in their playthrough. The update specifically reduces the frequency of those attacks rather than announcing broader changes to her damage or health.

The adjustment follows the game’s October 29 launch, when early reviews praised its demanding combat and boss encounters while identifying technical issues in other areas.
Beyond the boss adjustment, the update modifies combat behavior for certain other enemies and bosses, changes the functionality of some environmental mechanisms, and improves weapon hit feedback. S-GAME has also adjusted sound effect and dialogue volumes and updated selected weapon descriptions, skill descriptions, and controller button icons.
For PC players, one of the most significant changes concerns shader compilation. S-GAME has revised the compilation process to substantially reduce startup times by preventing ray tracing shaders from compiling automatically whenever the game starts.
Players who previously disabled ray tracing must complete a one-time shader recompilation after installing the update. Those who already had ray tracing enabled can launch the game without that additional compilation step.
If ray tracing is subsequently enabled through the graphics settings, the necessary shaders will compile separately when the game next restarts.
These changes build on the game’s earlier day-one patch and ray tracing optimizations, which addressed performance and compatibility concerns surrounding its PC release.
The new update also reduces stuttering associated with Bluetooth-connected controllers. Additionally, NVIDIA Reflex now functions when configured to Auto while V-Sync is enabled, resolving a compatibility issue with that combination of settings.
S-GAME has not provided specific frame-rate improvements or benchmark results for the patch. Its performance notes confirm improvements in certain areas but do not identify exact locations or quantify the gains.
Several quality-of-life features have also been introduced. Players can now adjust Hit Sound Intensity and Hit Impact Sound Intensity independently through the audio settings, providing additional control over the sound of combat.
On PC, the Interact / Talk action can now be remapped for both keyboard and controller inputs.
The update includes fixes for bugs that could prevent progression under certain circumstances, alongside environmental problems that could leave the player character stuck. Additional corrections address combat behavior, cutscenes, and visual issues.
PC players using certain AMD graphics cards should also benefit from a fix targeting incorrectly rendered character hair under specific graphics driver versions.
S-GAME has warned that some third-party mods may be incompatible with update 1.0302256. Players encountering problems after updating are advised to remove installed mods to determine whether they are causing the issue.
The patch is available for PS5 and PC, with its changes targeting both gameplay balance and technical stability less than a week after Phantom Blade Zero’s release.
