Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 06 will begin on September 17, bringing The Haunting back for the final season of Black Ops 7’s yearly content cycle. Activision’s new Season 06 material confirms a DOOM crossover alongside fresh Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone content, with the roadmap laying out additions scheduled across the launch window and later in the season.
The September 17 date was first highlighted alongside The Haunting’s new Black Ops 7 and Warzone trailer, which uses the DOOM-associated phrase “Rip and tear” and prominently establishes the horror-focused direction of the season. The newly released roadmap expands on that reveal, confirming that the collaboration is part of Season 06 rather than simply a visual reference in the trailer. Activision has not yet detailed every individual DOOM cosmetic or bundle included in the crossover.
Warzone is once again a major part of The Haunting. Haven’s Hollow, the Resurgence map introduced with Black Ops 7’s Warzone integration, features prominently in the Season 06 material with a Halloween-focused treatment. The map is set in the Appalachian Mountains and normally centers on a small American town surrounded by locations including the Lumbermill, Coal Depot, Main Street and Train Station, giving The Haunting an established environment to transform for the event.

The roadmap also points to additional Warzone activities across the season rather than limiting the update to a visual map change. Seasonal modes and Halloween-themed gameplay will accompany the broader Haunting rollout, continuing Call of Duty’s established approach of modifying its Battle Royale and Resurgence experiences for the annual event. More specific playlist timing is expected to be detailed closer to the individual activations.
Black Ops 7 Multiplayer will receive another collection of seasonal content as well. Season 06 includes additional maps, modes and weapon content, extending Multiplayer after Season 05 Reloaded introduced Turbo Tilt and the Freerun: Descent course. As with previous Call of Duty seasons, some additions are available when the season begins while others are reserved for later updates and events.
Zombies remains part of the final-season roadmap despite the main Black Ops 7 Zombies storyline reaching its conclusion with Rex Infernus in Season 05 Reloaded. Season 06 instead gives Treyarch room to add further challenges and seasonal experiences around the existing Zombies content rather than beginning another full narrative chapter. Activision is expected to provide more granular information on individual Zombies modes and rewards before they become available.
The DOOM partnership is the most prominent licensed collaboration revealed so far. Call of Duty has crossed over with DOOM before, including a previous bundle containing the Super Shotgun and Chainsaw, but Season 06 brings the franchise back during a Black Ops 7-era Haunting event. Exactly how much of the crossover will be available through gameplay, the Battle Pass, event rewards or premium Store bundles has not yet been fully detailed.
Season 06 is also significant because it closes out Black Ops 7’s seasonal run ahead of the franchise’s transition to Modern Warfare 4. Activision’s current Warzone store documentation already states that Warzone support on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will end when Black Ops 7 Season 06 concludes, making this the final season those platforms will support the live Warzone experience.
That gives the September update a larger role than a normal seasonal refresh. The Haunting will serve as Black Ops 7’s final major content phase while Warzone prepares for its next annual integration and the end of last-generation console support. Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch later in October, although Warzone’s transition does not necessarily occur on the same day as the premium game’s release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 06 launches September 17. The confirmed roadmap includes The Haunting, the DOOM crossover and new content spanning Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone, with additional seasonal events and updates expected to roll out after launch.
