Xbox Game Pass now includes every mainline Call of Duty release from 2019’s Modern Warfare through Black Ops 7. Xbox storefront listings confirm that Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 are all available through Microsoft’s subscription ecosystem. Together, the additions give subscribers access to the entire modern sequence of annual Call of Duty releases leading up to 2026’s Modern Warfare 4.
Modern Warfare from 2019 is now listed by Xbox as included with Game Pass Premium and Ultimate for cloud play, while Vanguard is also available through the service. Vanguard officially joined Game Pass in June 2026 across cloud, console and PC, filling one of the largest remaining gaps in the newer Call of Duty catalog. Modern Warfare’s addition similarly brings Infinity Ward’s 2019 reboot into the subscription lineup alongside its later sequels.
The most recent addition to complete that run is Black Ops Cold War, which became available on September 8 across cloud, console and PC. Treyarch and Raven Software’s 2020 entry sits between Modern Warfare and Vanguard chronologically by release date and includes its campaign, multiplayer and Zombies content. Its arrival means subscribers no longer have to skip a main annual release when moving through the modern Call of Duty catalog.
Modern Warfare II and Modern Warfare III are already firmly established in Game Pass. Xbox lists both titles as included with the service on console and PC, with cloud streaming also supported for eligible plans. Those two releases continue Infinity Ward’s rebooted Modern Warfare storyline before the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 takes the series forward again later in October.
Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 represent the newer side of the library. Black Ops 6 became the first Call of Duty to launch directly into Game Pass when it released in October 2024 following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Black Ops 7 continued that subscription strategy, and the game remains included across compatible Game Pass tiers while receiving ongoing seasonal content such as The Haunting update arriving September 17.
The lineup does not mean every Call of Duty game ever released is now available through Game Pass. Numerous older entries from the Xbox 360 and Xbox One eras remain outside the main subscription catalog, and availability can differ depending on platform and Game Pass tier. The significance is specifically that the uninterrupted run of major annual releases beginning with Modern Warfare in 2019 and continuing through Black Ops 7 can now be accessed through Game Pass.
That distinction also matters because Microsoft is changing course with the next entry. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches October 23, 2026, but Microsoft has explicitly confirmed that the game will not join Xbox Game Pass at launch this year. The upcoming release therefore breaks the recent pattern established by Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7, both of which were available to subscribers without a separate full-price purchase.
Microsoft’s gradual addition of older Activision titles has been one of the more visible consequences of its ownership of the publisher. Rather than adding the entire back catalog at once, Xbox has introduced Call of Duty games in stages, with titles including Modern Warfare III, Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War reaching the service at different points. The result is now a much more complete modern Call of Duty library than Game Pass offered immediately after the acquisition.
For subscribers, the current catalog covers seven consecutive mainline releases: Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War, Vanguard, Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7. All are now represented within Xbox Game Pass, giving players a single subscription route through the franchise’s entire modern pre-Modern Warfare 4 run.
