Activision has published the full Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 06 patch notes ahead of the update’s September 17 launch, detailing new Ranked Play rules, Warzone gameplay changes, weapon additions and numerous fixes. The update accompanies The Haunting and introduces changes that go beyond the content already outlined in the season roadmap. Season 06 launches across all platforms at 9 AM PT.

For Black Ops 7 multiplayer, one of the biggest changes concerns Ranked Play. Treyarch says the final Black Ops 7 Ranked season will run for just three weeks and introduces additional SR penalties designed to address inflation at higher ranks. Players who lose a match and finish fifth through eighth on the scoreboard can now lose an additional 10 to 40 SR, while performance against opponents significantly above or below a player’s rank can also modify the final SR result.

Outscoring an opponent at least three rank tiers higher awards an additional 20 SR, increasing to 40 SR when the gap reaches six tiers or more. The reverse also applies: being outscored by someone at least three tiers lower can cost 20 SR, rising to a 40 SR penalty at a six-tier difference. Treyarch says these changes continue its move toward a more transparent SR system while giving the studio additional data before Ranked Play moves into Modern Warfare 4.

Black Ops 7’s regular multiplayer weapon balance will not receive its main tuning pass immediately at launch. Treyarch says weapon tuning is planned shortly after Season 06 begins, allowing the team to first observe how the season’s new weapons affect the meta. The launch itself introduces the returning VMP SMG and the semi-automatic TR51 Para assault rifle through the Battle Pass, while the Arcblade melee weapon and Roc 20mm Special weapon arrive through events.

The broader Season 06 roadmap also brings Quantum as a new 6v6 map, a horror-themed version of Homestead called Bloodstead and several maps used specifically for T.E.D.D. Trials. Hordepoint returns later in the season, while Zombies receives additional Rogue Run content and numerous fixes to Rex Infernus quests, Easter eggs and progression systems. A new Heatsync launcher is also available through Endgame’s Forbidden Summoning World Event.

Warzone receives more immediate mechanical changes. Supply Drones have been reworked so they concentrate around High Value Loot Zones, remain active for longer, fly more predictably and carry a greater proportion of Legendary Crates. Destroying them can also trigger additional drone spawns up to a limit during each circle, while drones will no longer appear inside the gas.

Ground loot and the wider economy are changing as well. Utility Boxes are being removed from normal loot in favor of Armor and Munitions Boxes, Combat Axes are being replaced by Frag Grenades and Flash Grenades are being swapped for Concussion Grenades. Superstore, Hospital and Stadium are also being designated as High Value Loot Zones, while Cluster Strikes return to Buy Stations for $4,000.

Warzone Ranked Play receives some of Season 06’s most aggressive adjustments. Raven Software is increasing deployment fees for Diamond players and above while disabling all SR Challenges for the season, with the goal of reducing SR inflation and making progression near the top of the ladder more dependent on consistent performance. The maximum amount of SR players can earn in a match consequently falls as deployment costs increase through Crimson, Iridescent and Top 250 levels.

The Ranked sandbox is also opening up considerably. The NX Ravager crossbow, M10 Breacher shotgun, Arrow 109 and A.R.C M1 launchers are among previously restricted weapons being permitted, alongside several attachments and the Claymore. One-shot protection will apply to newly unrestricted high-damage equipment, while full-health vehicles will no longer be destroyed by a single launcher hit.

Season 06 additionally confirms that this will be the final opportunity to play Black Ops Royale before the mode leaves Warzone. Players can still earn new win-streak camos across Battle Royale, Resurgence and Black Ops Royale during the season, with different consecutive-win requirements attached to each mode. The change lines up with the approaching Modern Warfare 4 transition, while Call of Duty is also reorganizing Black Ops 7 and Warzone installation files on September 17 in preparation for the next premium game.

The patch notes arrive alongside The Haunting’s September 17 launch, which transforms Haven’s Hollow into Haunted Hollow and adds the 64-player Giant Infected limited-time mode in its second week. Season 06 also introduces a DOOM Event Pass, new camos, the Blackjack-led Battle Pass and additional Halloween-themed content across Black Ops 7 and Warzone.

With the full patch notes now live, Season 06 is shaping up as both Black Ops 7’s final competitive season and a transition point for Warzone ahead of Modern Warfare 4. The update launches September 17 at 9 AM PT, with Treyarch planning a separate multiplayer weapon-tuning pass shortly afterward.
