City of None, the upcoming action and puzzle platformer from Extremely OK Games and Noel & Liam Berry, is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch in 2027. The new console versions were confirmed during Nintendo’s October 28 Indie World Showcase, expanding the game’s previously announced PC release.
Originally revealed for PC in April 2026, City of None is a side-scrolling platforming adventure from one of the co-creators of Celeste. The game combines exploration, environmental puzzles and fast-paced combat in a sprawling metropolis inhabited by strange spirits, dangerous beasts and robotic enemies.
Players take control of a spirit inhabiting a wooden body, exploring a deteriorating city controlled by powerful Barons. The story follows the protagonist’s efforts to challenge these rulers and reclaim the city’s future while encountering both friendly and hostile inhabitants.

The city is divided into five distinct sectors, each featuring its own environments, gameplay styles and four-color visual palette. Players can travel between sectors by train, explore interconnected pathways and discover items that unlock additional platforming abilities.
Combat is another major component of the experience. Players must confront various enemies while collecting rare resources to upgrade their equipment. These improvements accompany the game’s exploration and platforming systems, allowing players to expand their abilities as they progress through the city.
City of None also features a distinctive visual presentation, with each sector using a limited color palette to establish its atmosphere. The different environments and gameplay approaches are designed around the city’s five interconnected areas.
The announcement adds City of None to Nintendo’s growing selection of independent games scheduled for 2027. Other titles featured during the same Indie World Showcase include Tenjutsu, the upcoming action roguelike from Dead Cells designer Sébastien Benard, and Threads of Time, a turn-based RPG launching on both Nintendo consoles in summer 2027.
Extremely OK Games has not announced a specific release date for City of None beyond 2027. The game is currently confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Pricing and any potential differences between the console versions have not been detailed.
