Demons’ Night Fever, a new tactical strategy RPG produced by Disgaea creator Sohei Niikawa, is now available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Publisher Arc System Works confirmed the game’s October 22, 2026, launch, with a price of $39.99.
Developed by SuperNiche and Drecom, Demons’ Night Fever combines traditional grid-based tactical combat with unconventional mechanics that encourage players to sacrifice their own units. The single-player RPG revolves around building an increasingly powerful army through actions that would normally be discouraged in strategy games.
The central combat mechanic is the Peon Exploitation System, which allows players to deliberately eliminate allied units to damage enemies. Characters can use Kill Skills and Sacrifices to detonate their own underlings during battles, turning expendable teammates into offensive weapons.

However, losing units is not necessarily a permanent setback. The game’s progression system allows defeated Peons to reincarnate stronger, encouraging players to repeatedly sacrifice and develop their characters rather than focusing exclusively on keeping every unit alive.
Outside combat, players manage their army through a base-building and character-development system powered by Perverse Points. These points are earned through various misdeeds and can be invested in strengthening characters. Activities such as Abductions and Pillaging provide additional opportunities to develop units within the game’s limited time periods.
Demons’ Night Fever also features a story that changes substantially between chapters. Defeating chapter bosses introduces different scenarios, including battles against superhero-inspired Super Rangers and magical-girl characters.
The narrative follows Giga Super Death, a powerful Devil who unexpectedly loses his abilities and transforms into a baby just before defeating God. To recover his powers, he activates a resurrection program and forms an alliance with Killshiro Katanaka, a disillusioned young man who becomes his disciple.
Niikawa, known for creating the Disgaea series, serves as the game’s producer. His involvement connects the project to a longstanding tradition of strategy RPGs built around exaggerated character progression and unusual combat systems. Niikawa has also discussed his approach to storytelling and creative development, emphasizing the importance of human creative decisions.
The game’s creative team includes character designer Yuji Himukai, sound creator Tatsuya Yano and musician syudou, who performs the main theme song, “Dropout.”
For PC players, the Steam listing specifies Windows 11, 4GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1650 or Radeon RX 6400 graphics card, and 5GB of available storage as minimum requirements. The PC version supports achievements, cloud saves and controllers, although Steam Deck compatibility remains unverified.
Demons’ Night Fever is available digitally across all three platforms, with physical editions offered for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. The game supports English and Japanese voice acting, alongside text localization in English, French, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
