Starbrew Games has announced that Duck Side of the Moon will arrive on PlayStation 5 in November 2026 alongside a free content update titled Homegrown. The announcement, made on November 2, confirms a new console version of the cozy exploration adventure while introducing gardening, expanded spaceship customization and additional areas to explore.
The exact release date remains unclear. The announcement coverage lists November 17 in its headline but November 7 in the article text. Both dates refer to the upcoming PS5 version and Homegrown update, although the discrepancy means the specific launch day still requires clarification.
Duck Side of the Moon originally launched on May 7, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Developed and published by Dutch indie studio Starbrew Games, the adventure follows Doug, an overworked duck astronaut who crash-lands in an unfamiliar galaxy and begins searching for a new home.

Players explore colorful planets, gather resources, craft gadgets and gradually transform Doug’s damaged spaceship into a comfortable living space. The game emphasizes relaxed exploration, environmental discovery and helping unusual inhabitants rather than combat or survival challenges.
The upcoming Homegrown update expands those activities by introducing a gardening system that allows players to plant, grow and harvest crops aboard their spaceship. It also adds more customization options, including collectible chromas that can be used to change the appearance of individual furniture pieces and walls.
Beyond gardening and decorating, Homegrown introduces new characters and additional areas to explore, giving players more activities within the existing adventure.
According to Starbrew Games, the new content becomes accessible approximately halfway through the game. Players who have already completed the main adventure will not need to restart, as they can load an existing save file to access the additions.
The update will be available free of charge to all players, including those on existing platforms.
Starbrew Games designer Joost Rol explained in the announcement that the team had wanted to expand the game’s cozy universe since its original launch, particularly by giving players more activities and additional ways to personalize Doug’s spaceship.
The PS5 release will bring Duck Side of the Moon to another console platform roughly six months after its original debut. Meanwhile, PC and Nintendo Switch players will receive new activities through Homegrown without purchasing additional downloadable content.
Starbrew Games has also released a new announcement trailer showcasing the PlayStation 5 version and the upcoming update. Further clarification of the November launch date is still needed.
