LEVEL-5 has announced The Celestial Express, a new paid DLC expansion for FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time. The expansion was revealed during LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II on September 10 alongside a teaser trailer outlining some of the additional progression and customization content planned for the game. LEVEL-5 has not yet announced a release date or price for the DLC.
The Celestial Express represents a new phase of post-launch support for FANTASY LIFE i, which originally launched in May 2025 before expanding to Nintendo Switch 2 and, more recently, iOS and Android. The game is currently available across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS and Android. LEVEL-5 has continued updating the RPG since launch with new content and system improvements, including the previously released free major update The Sinister Broker Bazario’s Schemes.
Unlike that earlier free expansion, The Celestial Express is specifically being positioned as paid downloadable content. LEVEL-5’s teaser showed that the expansion will extend character progression with two additional Life ranks beyond the existing system, including God-in-Training and God. The Life system remains central to FANTASY LIFE i, allowing players to move between combat, gathering and crafting professions rather than remaining locked into a single traditional RPG class.
The teaser also highlighted further customization tied to crafting. Certain weapons will gain additional appearance options, giving players more control over how crafted equipment looks while retaining the broader crafting loop that connects the game’s different Lives. LEVEL-5 also showed new furniture and decorative items, continuing the game’s emphasis on building and personalizing spaces alongside exploration and combat.
Another addition shown during the presentation was a small flying robot-like companion. LEVEL-5 indicated that the character will assist players in some capacity, while different visual variations were also shown during the teaser. The company has not yet fully explained the companion’s mechanics, so it remains unclear whether it will primarily support gathering, crafting, exploration or several systems at once.
The name The Celestial Express suggests a larger thematic component to the expansion, but LEVEL-5 has so far kept its story and explorable content largely under wraps. The reveal focused more heavily on concepts, progression additions and new items than on showing a complete new region. As a result, the scale of any new areas, quests or narrative chapters has not yet been detailed publicly.
FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time is built around 14 different Lives that players can switch between while exploring, gathering materials, crafting equipment and fighting enemies. Its story sends players between different periods separated by 1,000 years as they work to restore a mysterious island. That structure gives LEVEL-5 several existing systems to expand through DLC without necessarily changing the core progression loop.
The game has also continued to grow commercially since release. LEVEL-5 announced in early 2026 that worldwide sales had surpassed 1.5 million copies, before bringing the game to smartphones in August with cross-play and cross-save support. The mobile editions joined an already unusually broad platform lineup for the series, allowing progress and multiplayer activity to extend across multiple devices.
The Celestial Express therefore arrives after more than a year of continued support rather than as an immediate post-launch add-on. Its paid status also distinguishes it from the free updates LEVEL-5 has already delivered, suggesting a more substantial package even though the developer has not yet defined its exact size. The teaser confirms new progression ranks, crafting customization, furnishings and another companion, while leaving the expansion’s larger structure for a later reveal.
For now, LEVEL-5 has confirmed that The Celestial Express is in development as paid DLC for FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time. A release date, price and complete content breakdown remain unannounced. More details will be needed before the full scope of the expansion becomes clear.
