Epic Games has released a same-day hotfix for Fortnite OG Season X, addressing several weapon, item and loot issues that appeared after the season went live. The update fixes the Pump Shotgun’s structure damage and reload time, adjusts accuracy and spread across four weapons, corrects Storm Flip damage and repairs incorrect rewards from Ammo Boxes and Supply Llamas. Epic rolled out the changes without requiring a major new client update.

The Pump Shotgun receives two direct fixes. Epic says its structure damage has been corrected, while its reload time has also been restored to the intended value. The company has not published revised numerical values in the announcement, so the hotfix should be treated as a correction to unintended Season X behavior rather than a newly announced balance overhaul.

Accuracy and spread have also been adjusted for the Tactical SMG, Revolver, Double Barrel Shotgun and Suppressed Assault Rifle. Epic grouped the four weapons together in its update rather than specifying individual changes for each one. As a result, the precise before-and-after spread values remain undisclosed, but players should see these weapons behave closer to their intended OG Season X versions following the server-side adjustment.

The Automatic Sniper Rifle received a separate recoil change. Epic says its vertical recoil has been improved, addressing another weapon-behavior issue from the season’s launch build. The Automatic Sniper Rifle is one of the weapons highlighted as part of the returning Season X loot pool, making the correction particularly relevant to players testing the newly restored content.

Storm Flip was another item affected by the launch-state problems. The throwable now deals the correct amount of damage per second to players caught inside the flipped Storm. Storm Flip creates the opposite environmental effect of the area where it is thrown, producing a damaging Storm zone inside the safe area or a temporary safe zone when used within the Storm.

The hotfix also corrects ammunition rewards from standard loot containers. Chests and Ammo Boxes now provide the appropriate quantities of ammunition rather than the incorrect amounts players could receive immediately after Season X launched. Epic did not specify whether the issue affected every ammunition type or only particular loot combinations.

Supply Llamas have received a similar correction tied to building materials. Epic says they now drop the proper amount of each material, fixing quantities that were not matching the intended Season X values. That change matters more in Fortnite OG’s traditional building mode, where a Llama can quickly supply the materials needed for extended fights or rotations.

The fixes arrive shortly after Fortnite v42.10 brought OG Season X to the game on September 3. The season revisits the final chapter of Fortnite’s original island era, bringing back Rift Zones, returning weapons and other mechanics associated with Chapter 1 Season X. Epic’s official Fortnite channels had been teasing the return ahead of launch, while a Season X Discovery banner surfaced before release through datamined material.

Season X’s launch is broader than this hotfix alone, but the rapid follow-up indicates Epic identified several gameplay values that were not behaving as planned. None of the announced changes add or remove weapons, and Epic has not described them as a broader balance pass. Instead, the update is primarily focused on restoring intended damage, recoil, accuracy and reward behavior across content already included in the season.

Because the changes were rolled out as quick improvements, players do not need to wait for another full Fortnite patch for these corrections. Epic can make many weapon and loot adjustments server-side, allowing problems discovered immediately after a season launches to be addressed without another prolonged downtime period.

Fortnite OG Season X is available now following the September 3 update. With the Pump Shotgun, Automatic Sniper Rifle, Storm Flip, loot containers and Supply Llamas corrected, Epic’s first post-launch hotfix is focused on bringing several returning Season X systems back in line with their intended behavior.
