Fortnite appears to be getting six additional Match Overrides, with newly datamined effects that can alter fall damage, healing, ammunition and weapon behavior across a match. Dataminer FireMonkey says the newly uncovered Overrides are called Big Boom, Prize Plus, Thundaga, Super Shot, Health Siphon and Endless Shooter. Epic Games has not publicly detailed this set yet, so the effects should be treated as datamined information until they are activated or formally announced.
Match Overrides are one of the defining systems of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. Players can reach Override Consoles during Battle Royale matches and use special cartridges to change the rules for either the entire lobby or, in some cases, a single squad. Epic has already expanded the system several times this season, including the six Match Overrides introduced with v42.10.
Big Boom removes fall damage and turns sufficiently long falls into offensive opportunities. According to FireMonkey’s datamine, players create an explosion when they land after falling for a period of time, with the blast becoming more powerful the longer the fall lasts. The effect could substantially change vertical fights by allowing players to deliberately drop from high ground rather than worrying about eliminating themselves through fall damage.

Prize Plus instead changes what happens after eliminations. Every elimination reportedly causes HP Orbs to appear, giving surviving players a new way to recover health after combat. Health Siphon provides a more direct sustain mechanic, restoring health as players deal damage rather than waiting until an opponent has been eliminated.
Two of the newly uncovered Overrides focus heavily on ranged weapons. Super Shot reportedly causes a rocket to fire after a player has expended a certain amount of ammunition, effectively adding an explosive attack to ordinary gunplay. Endless Shooter increases magazine capacity while also granting infinite ammunition to ranged weapons, potentially removing one of Battle Royale’s normal resource-management pressures for the duration of the Override.
Thundaga is the most crossover-specific addition in the group. FireMonkey says it is a Squad Override that grants the Mythic Kingdom Key while affecting only the squad that activates it, but unlike typical Squad Overrides it does not expose that squad’s location. The Kingdom Key Mythic arrives as part of Fortnite’s Kingdom Hearts crossover, tying the new Override directly into the season’s growing collection of gaming collaborations.
That also lines up with footage Epic has already shown of the Kingdom Key in action. The Kingdom Hearts crossover trailer shows the Keyblade casting Thundaga, suggesting the newly datamined Override is designed around the crossover weapon rather than simply borrowing its name. Exactly how often Thundaga will appear in matches, and whether its version of the Kingdom Key differs from other ways of obtaining the Mythic, remains unclear.
The six additions continue Epic’s approach of using Match Overrides to create dramatic temporary rule changes rather than small statistical buffs. Existing Overrides can alter player proportions, weapon behavior, mobility and other fundamental systems, allowing one activation to reshape how the rest of a match plays out. Epic’s official description of the season specifically frames Override Consoles as a way to rewrite Battle Royale rules for everyone in the server.
Not every newly discovered Override necessarily has to become active immediately after being added to the game files. Epic can stage content throughout an update cycle, and Fortnite routinely contains assets or gameplay definitions ahead of their actual activation. FireMonkey’s findings establish the names and described effects present in the data, but Epic has not provided a schedule for when each one will enter the live Override pool.
The latest discoveries arrive around Fortnite v42.20, which is also expanding Season 4 with new crossover content, Sprites and other additions. A separate Persona 5-themed Match Override has also surfaced from v42.20, indicating Epic is continuing to use the system as a way to connect collaboration content directly to Battle Royale gameplay.
If all six Overrides activate as currently described, the next Match Override rotation will include some of the strongest rule changes introduced so far, ranging from infinite ranged ammo to explosive landings and damage-based healing. Epic Games has not yet confirmed their activation dates, so the final implementation may still change before they become available in live matches.
