The Coalition has launched the fifth year of Gears of War’s Never Fight Alone suicide-prevention campaign, continuing its partnership with Crisis Text Line and introducing new charity merchandise and in-game content. The studio says the initiative has now supported more than 16,000 Crisis Text Line conversations. The 2026 campaign also features new artwork from illustrator Luke Preece, who has worked extensively with Gears of War and Gears of War: E-Day.
Never Fight Alone began as a multi-year commitment from The Coalition to donate 1% of net revenue from Gears of War products to organizations working to prevent suicide and combat loneliness. Crisis Text Line has remained a central partner throughout the program, providing free and confidential crisis support around the clock. The organization has also expanded its international reach through Aquà Estoy, which serves people across 20 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean.
This year’s campaign launches on September 10, World Suicide Prevention Day, continuing the program’s annual renewal. Luke Preece has created new 2026 artwork that appears on a limited-edition T-shirt and hoodie available through the Xbox Game Studios Shop. Preece is already closely associated with the franchise, having contributed artwork to Gears projects including merchandise, collectibles and Gears of War: E-Day.

The campaign will also extend directly into E-Day when the game launches on October 6. The Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle will include a character skin, a set of weapon skins, an emblem, banner and icon. The Coalition says all net revenue generated by that bundle will be donated directly to Crisis Text Line rather than being included only within the wider 1% commitment.
That ties the initiative to what will be one of the franchise’s most significant releases in years. Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel centered on Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the Locust emergence, with campaign, Horde Siege and competitive multiplayer content. Its launch provides The Coalition with a much larger audience through which to continue promoting the Never Fight Alone message.
Crisis Text Line CEO Dena Trujillo said the continuing partnership demonstrates what can happen when a gaming community maintains a long-term commitment to mental-health support. She pointed specifically to the more than 16,000 conversations supported through the Gears community so far and said the upcoming E-Day charity bundle will allow that impact to continue growing. The Coalition has framed the campaign around the franchise’s recurring themes of connection, brotherhood and people supporting one another through difficult situations.
The Never Fight Alone program was first announced in 2022, when The Coalition committed 1% of net revenue from Gears of War games and merchandise to suicide-prevention and anti-loneliness organizations. At the time, the studio described the effort as a long-term initiative rather than a one-off charity promotion. Subsequent campaigns have continued to use merchandise, community messaging and partnerships to generate funding and awareness.
The timing also places the latest campaign immediately ahead of E-Day’s release, as The Coalition continues revealing more about the game. Its recently published 55-achievement list covers campaign, Horde Siege, Versus and major completion challenges, while the charity bundle will add a separate way for players to support Crisis Text Line once the game is available.
The Coalition is also directing anyone who needs support to Crisis Text Line, where people in the United States can text GEARS to 741741 to connect with a volunteer crisis counselor. The service is free, confidential and available 24 hours a day. Never Fight Alone’s fifth year therefore continues both sides of the initiative: directing players toward immediate support while using Gears of War revenue and community products to help fund the organization providing it.
