GTA VI Limited Edition DualSense Controllers Revealed for PS5

Sony has officially revealed two Grand Theft Auto VI Limited Edition DualSense wireless controllers for PlayStation 5. The accessories were unveiled during the September 3 State of Play, with Rockstar’s upcoming open-world game receiving separate black and white controller designs ahead of its November 19, 2026 launch. Both feature visual elements based on GTA VI and its neon-heavy Vice City presentation.

The two controllers use different base colors but share several GTA VI-specific details. One is predominantly white and the other predominantly black, while both feature the game’s “VI” branding across the touchpad area. Neon-colored accents across the front draw from the pink, purple and blue visual palette Rockstar has used throughout GTA VI’s promotional material.

Sony’s decision to produce two variants makes this a larger hardware collaboration than the single-controller limited editions usually released alongside major PS5 games. PlayStation has increasingly paired high-profile releases with specially designed DualSense models, including recent accessories for Marvel’s Wolverine and 007 First Light. GTA VI is receiving two designs simultaneously, giving players a choice between contrasting versions built around the same game.

The reveal also extends the marketing partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games. In June, Sony said GTA VI would “play best” on PS5 and detailed how the game uses DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and the controller’s integrated speaker. The PlayStation Store additionally lists GTA VI as PS5 Pro Enhanced, although neither Sony nor Rockstar has promised a specific performance mode or frame-rate advantage for the Pro console.

DualSense functionality is expected to play a noticeable role in the PS5 version. Sony previously said haptic feedback will react to actions occurring throughout Jason and Lucia’s story, while adaptive triggers will provide changing resistance depending on what players are doing. Controller audio is also being used alongside haptics to provide additional feedback during certain moments and interactions.

The controllers arrive as GTA VI’s launch campaign accelerates. Rockstar opened Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders in June after confirming several editions of the game, while an extended gameplay presentation released in August offered the most detailed look yet at Jason, Lucia, Vice City and the wider state of Leonida. The game is currently scheduled for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rockstar’s official PlayStation partnership does not change GTA VI’s platform availability. Despite Sony marketing the PS5 version heavily and now introducing dedicated hardware, the game is also launching on Xbox Series X|S on the same date. No PC release date has been announced.

The controller announcement further demonstrates the scale of Sony’s push around one of 2026’s biggest releases. GTA VI has already received dedicated PlayStation marketing focused on DualSense support, 3D Audio, SSD loading and PS5 Pro enhancement, and the limited edition controllers turn that partnership into a physical accessory line. Expectations surrounding the launch remain unusually high, with even Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick discussing the pressure accompanying Grand Theft Auto VI’s November release.

Sony has not indicated that either controller includes functionality unavailable on a standard DualSense. The differences are cosmetic, while the underlying hardware retains the familiar haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion controls, touchpad and integrated speaker supported by other PS5 controllers.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With two limited edition DualSense designs now officially unveiled, Sony is adding dedicated GTA VI hardware to an already extensive PlayStation marketing campaign surrounding Rockstar’s return to Vice City.
