Aniplex and CYBIRD have officially announced LunaReverse, a new dark fantasy visual novel in development for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Windows PC via Steam. Revealed on November 7, 2026, the game will support English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. A release date and pricing have not yet been announced.
The announcement marks the first collaboration between publisher Aniplex and developer CYBIRD, the Japanese company known for its character-driven Ikémen Series games. Both companies confirmed plans for a simultaneous worldwide release, although a specific launch window remains undecided.
LunaReverse centers on a dark fantasy story involving revenge, transformation, and a descent into darkness. The game’s official Japanese description introduces a protagonist whose pursuit of vengeance transforms them from a magician into a demon. Its English promotional material describes a personal journey of revenge and downfall, questioning whether paradise or darkness awaits at the end.

The initial reveal includes a teaser trailer and promotional artwork, offering an early introduction to the game’s atmosphere and visual direction. However, Aniplex and CYBIRD have not yet provided detailed information about the characters, narrative structure, or gameplay systems.
The companies also confirmed the principal creative staff. Hiroto Kuramasu serves as producer and director and is credited with the original concept. The screenplay is being written by Satomi Nakayama and Ichiha of C-Garden, while Ugonba is responsible for character design.
Nakayama previously worked on Virche Evermore: -ErroR:salvation- and CRAZY CHA!N -Elpis no Kusari-. Ugonba’s earlier character design credits include Sanrio’s Fragaria Memories project.
LunaReverse is confirmed as a single-player experience. Its multilingual release plans mean English-speaking players will be able to experience the game without relying on an unofficial translation. The announcement follows other Japanese narrative-driven games expanding their international availability, including Devil Connection's English-language support and upcoming Switch release and Kakan Ruirui's planned Nintendo Switch launch with English support.
Aniplex and CYBIRD have opened an official website alongside English and Japanese social media accounts for the project. The companies have not announced a Steam release date, Nintendo eShop availability, age rating, or price. Further details about LunaReverse’s characters and gameplay are expected through future official announcements.
