Ubisoft has delayed Rayman Legends Retold from October 1 to December 3, 2026. The publisher confirmed the new date in a message from the Rayman development team, saying the game has already gone gold but that the developers want additional time to give every detail the attention it needs. Rayman Legends Retold remains planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
The delay pushes the platformer back by just over two months, but Ubisoft has not cited a specific technical issue or feature responsible for the change. Instead, the development team said it decided to take extra time despite completing the version required to reach gold status, which traditionally indicates that a game is ready for manufacturing and certification. The company has not suggested that the new December 3 date will affect any individual platform differently.
Players will not have to wait until December for the next substantial look at the project. Ubisoft says a new Game Overview trailer will be released on September 22, accompanied by fresh hands-on impressions from selected creators and members of the press. That should provide a more detailed look at the finished structure of the game while development continues during the additional polishing period.

Rayman Legends Retold was formally announced during Sony’s State of Play in June as a substantial reimagining of the 2013 platformer rather than a straightforward remaster. Development is being led by Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Milan, with the original adventure rebuilt around new 3D visuals, a rewritten story and fully voiced cinematics. Rayman, Globox, Barbara, Grand Minimus and Murphy return as the playable cast as they attempt to restore peace to the Glade of Dreams.
The project also adds a previously unseen sixth realm, four new musical stages, dragon-riding sequences and Cave of Trials challenges alongside returning content. Ubisoft has retained the series’ local multiplayer focus, with the full adventure supporting up to four players in couch co-op. Kung Foot also returns in an expanded form called Kung Foot Evo, featuring improved ball control, a larger emphasis on team play and additional customization options.
Every edition of Rayman Legends Retold also includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition. Ubisoft says the updated version of the earlier platformer features 4K resolution, 60 FPS gameplay, new collectibles and rewards, controller enhancements and other quality-of-life improvements. That makes the package broader than a recreation of Rayman Legends alone, combining the new Retold campaign with an upgraded version of its predecessor.
Ubisoft has also outlined several editions for the release. The Standard Edition includes the base game and Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, while the digital Deluxe Edition adds a Retro Pack with additional costumes and an in-game art gallery. A retail Launch Edition includes the two games alongside a printed Glade of Dreams map, three lithographs and a slipcase, while players who preorder are currently offered a Hoodlum Havoc cosmetic pack inspired by Rayman 3.
The December move places Rayman Legends Retold among several games that have shifted away from their originally announced late-2026 dates. Moon Studios recently moved No Rest for the Wicked’s 1.0 release from October 2026 to March 2027, although Ubisoft’s delay is considerably shorter and keeps Rayman within the same calendar year. The new date now puts the game into the final major release period before the holidays.
Rayman Legends Retold is currently scheduled to launch on December 3 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through Ubisoft Connect, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Ubisoft also lists GeForce Now and Blacknut among the supported services. Unless the schedule changes again, the September 22 Game Overview trailer will be the next major official update before its delayed release.
