R.E.P.O., the cooperative horror game from developer semiwork, is officially coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Nintendo confirmed the console version during its October 28, 2026 Indie World Showcase, bringing the physics-based multiplayer extraction game beyond its original PC release.
The announcement establishes a 2027 release window, although an exact launch date has not been revealed. Nintendo also highlighted the game’s cooperative mechanics, procedurally generated levels, and physics-driven item retrieval system in its official showcase recap.
R.E.P.O. places players in the role of small robotic characters tasked with collecting valuable objects from dangerous, abandoned environments. Working together, players must locate items, transport them safely, and extract their haul while avoiding hostile creatures.

The game’s defining mechanic is its physics-based grabbing tool, which allows players to interact with objects of different sizes and weights. Items range from fragile ceramics to heavy pianos, making careful movement and coordination essential. Dropping or mishandling valuable objects can complicate an extraction, while the surrounding environments introduce additional hazards.
Each level is procedurally generated, creating different layouts and encounters between runs. Players must coordinate their movements, manage valuable cargo, and avoid enemies while completing their objectives.
Originally released through Steam Early Access in February 2025, R.E.P.O. supports cooperative multiplayer for up to six players on PC. Its combination of horror, physics-based interactions, and unpredictable encounters has helped establish it among multiplayer horror games.
The Nintendo Switch 2 announcement confirms that the core cooperative extraction experience is being brought to the console. However, Nintendo and semiwork have not announced whether the Switch 2 version will support cross-platform multiplayer with PC players.
Additional console-specific details, including performance targets, graphical settings, pricing, and support for Nintendo Switch 2 features, have also not been confirmed.
R.E.P.O. joins a growing selection of horror and cooperative games arriving on Nintendo’s latest console. Red Barrels’ The Outlast Trials launched on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 27, bringing another multiplayer horror experience to the platform.
Nintendo’s October Indie World Showcase also confirmed several other upcoming Switch 2 releases, including Slime Rancher 2 in January 2027 and Tenjutsu in 2027.
For now, R.E.P.O. is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027, with further release details yet to be announced.
