The person or group behind the recent Grand Theft Auto VI leaks appears to have cashed out more than $250,000 tied to the CyberLeek memecoin, raising fresh questions over whether the current leak campaign is winding down.

CoinDesk reported on August 27 that on-chain data showed the CyberLeek contract owner claiming roughly $146,000 in wrapped SOL along with 15.4 million CYBERLEEK tokens generated through creator fees. Those tokens were then sold in a single transaction for approximately $125,000 worth of SOL.

That puts the value associated with the transactions at around $270,000, although estimates vary depending on the methodology used and cryptocurrency prices at the time. CoinDesk cited independent blockchain analysis and noted that the figures have not been confirmed by Cyberleek or by an exchange.

The sell-off follows more than a week of unauthorized GTA 6 footage appearing online under the Cyberleek name. The leaks began on August 18 and included gameplay showing protagonist Jason driving, fighting NPCs, playing basketball and exploring parts of the game world. Later footage also appeared to contain story material involving Lucia.

Cyberleek used the attention surrounding those clips to promote a Solana-based memecoin carrying the same name. Leaked videos were watermarked with references to the token, and the project linked the release of additional footage to activity surrounding the coin.

The strategy briefly pushed CYBERLEEK to a market capitalization of around $25 million on August 23. By August 27, however, the token had fallen sharply. CoinDesk reported it trading near $0.0097, down roughly 46 percent over 24 hours, with its market capitalization falling to about $7 million at the time of publication.

Separate market data showed an even steeper decline from the token’s peak. CoinGecko data cited by other reports put CYBERLEEK more than 70 percent below its all-time high of approximately $0.0344.

The cash-out does not prove that the GTA 6 leaks have ended. Cyberleek has not publicly confirmed that no further footage will be released, and there is currently no verified statement establishing that the group has lost access to the material it had been publishing. Any suggestion that the leak campaign is over remains speculative.

The timing is notable, however. The transactions took place only hours before Rockstar Games’ scheduled August 27 extended GTA 6 presentation, which gives the publisher its first substantial opportunity to present the game on its own terms following the recent wave of unauthorized footage.

Rockstar addressed the leaks on August 26, describing the situation as heartbreaking for its development team and warning that spoilers could affect how players experience the game. The company has otherwise continued with its planned marketing schedule.

Take-Two Interactive has also escalated efforts to identify the people behind the leaks. Court filings made earlier this month sought records from Microsoft and Discord associated with accounts and servers connected to Cyberleek. Additional DMCA subpoena applications were later directed at X and YouTube.

That legal pressure has made Cyberleek’s cryptocurrency activity particularly significant. CoinDesk reported that part of the proceeds was divided among several newly created wallets, while at least 91 SOL was routed to KuCoin. On-chain investigators have said earlier funding activity also appeared to trace back to a KuCoin account subject to know-your-customer requirements, although that has not resulted in a publicly confirmed identification of the leaker.

For now, the clearest development is financial rather than definitive proof that the leak campaign has stopped. Cyberleek has sold a substantial amount linked to the memecoin after using unreleased GTA 6 footage to promote it, while the token itself has lost much of its peak value. Whether more gameplay leaks follow remains uncertain.
