Arrowhead Game Studios has announced the Helldivers 2 Liberty Day 2026 celebrations, offering eligible players a free AR-23L Liberator Legacy rifle alongside temporary Super Destroyer decorations and returning community activities. The event takes place on October 26, marking the third annual Liberty Day celebration in Helldivers 2.
The developer confirmed the details in a PlayStation Blog announcement published on October 26. This year’s celebrations introduce a new primary weapon inspired by the original Helldivers, while players can also participate in Discord minigames and access additional anniversary merchandise.
The main reward is the AR-23L Liberator Legacy, a rifle modeled after weapons used during the First Galactic War. Its design brings a retro appearance to modern Helldivers 2 loadouts, referencing equipment from the original game.

Arrowhead has confirmed that the weapon will be distributed at 23:59 CET on October 26, 2026. All players who have played Helldivers 2 since September 26, 2026, at 00:00 CET are eligible to receive it.
This means players who have already played during the qualifying period do not need to complete a specific mission or challenge to earn the rifle. Anyone returning after a longer absence should log in before the distribution cutoff to qualify.
Although Arrowhead has confirmed the reward and eligibility requirements, its announcement does not provide detailed weapon statistics or explain whether the AR-23L Liberator Legacy will become obtainable through another method after Liberty Day.
Alongside the free rifle, Arrowhead has introduced special decorations aboard players’ Super Destroyers. For 24 hours on October 26, ship interiors will feature Liberty Day banners, rugs, party supplies and other celebratory items.
These decorations are temporary additions intended to mark the in-universe holiday rather than permanent ship customization options.
The developer is also bringing back several community activities through the official Helldivers 2 Discord server. Minidivers allows participants to work together by entering emoji-based Stratagem codes in chat to defeat waves of enemies. Adopt-a-SEAF lets players take care of a virtual SEAF companion and send them on missions.
Two additional activities, Oath of Enlistment and Raise the Flag, allow participants to receive a copy of their enlistment oath or cooperate in raising a flag through Discord chat. These minigames are exclusive to members of the game’s official Discord community.
Arrowhead has also prepared a downloadable Liberty Day Party Pack containing games, decorations, recipes and printable Helldiver helmets for fans celebrating outside the game.
Beyond the free in-game rewards, the developer is offering achievement-linked merchandise through the Helldivers 2 Super Merch Store. Players who reach Level 100 and earn the Hell Commander title can unlock the Hell Commander Pin for purchase. Completing 75 missions unlocks the option to buy the Private Teddy Snuggles Plush.
The required achievements must be completed by February 28, 2027, at 9:59 a.m. Pacific Time. Eligible players must place their merchandise orders by March 31, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. These items are not free rewards, and shipping restrictions apply.
Additional merchandise includes a limited-edition collection of six Helldivers 2 metal collectibles from Displate. FiGGYZ will also open preorders on November 20 for a numbered collector’s box featuring four pixel-art magnetic figures representing Helldivers and Automatons.
Liberty Day is celebrated annually on October 26 within the Helldivers universe. Previous celebrations have also featured in-game rewards, including the R-2124 Constitution rifle and DP-00 Tactical Armor in 2024.
The 2026 celebration continues that tradition with a new weapon available to recently active players, alongside one-day ship decorations and community events.
Helldivers 2 is available on PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can also access the game through the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, although online play on PS5 requires a PlayStation Plus membership.
Players interested in the free AR-23L Liberator Legacy should ensure they meet the September 26 eligibility requirement before the October 26 distribution deadline.
