Compile Heart, Idea Factory International, and developer Sting have announced Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The new multiplayer board-game RPG will launch simultaneously worldwide in summer 2027, introducing cooperative boss battles, character customization, and additional gameplay features.
The announcement was made alongside gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 in Bangkok, with publisher Idea Factory confirming the release plans through an official press release. The game will support English, Japanese, Thai, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 continues the series’ combination of competitive board-game mechanics and RPG progression. Up to four players travel across a board-style map, defeat monsters, rescue towns, and collect money while competing to become the wealthiest player.
Movement is determined by spinning a roulette wheel, with different spaces triggering events, shop visits, monster encounters, or battles against other players. Combat uses turn-based commands, including Attack, Defend, Strike, and Magic, requiring players to anticipate their opponents’ choices.
Players can also attack rivals to steal their money and equipment, maintaining the competitive mechanics associated with the Dokapon series. Defeating another player can unlock additional punishments, including changing their character’s name or giving them an unwanted hairstyle.
One of the sequel’s major additions is cooperative battles against Giga Monsters. These encounters bring every player together to fight a powerful enemy for substantial rewards. However, the competitive element remains, as players must decide whether to distribute the rewards fairly or attempt to claim everything for themselves.
Another new feature is a character creation system that allows players to design their own heroes. Customization options include hairstyles, eyes, mouths, and facial appearances. Created characters can also be saved and reused in subsequent games.
Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 supports local multiplayer for up to four players on a single console or PC, alongside online multiplayer for two to four players. Solo play is also available.
The sequel follows Dokapon Kingdom: Connect, which launched on Nintendo Switch in 2023 before arriving on PC through Steam later that year. Unlike the previous release, the new game is planned for a simultaneous worldwide launch across all three announced platforms.
The game also joins a growing selection of multiplayer titles planned for Nintendo’s newer console in 2027, including the cooperative horror game R.E.P.O., which is also coming to Nintendo Switch 2.
Compile Heart has released an announcement trailer and gameplay footage demonstrating the sequel’s board-game mechanics, Giga Monster encounters, and character creation system.
Dokapon Kingdom: Connect 2 is already available to wishlist on Steam. An exact release date and pricing have not yet been announced.
