Final Fantasy Resonance’s achievement list has surfaced ahead of its October release, revealing the structure of Square Enix’s upcoming HD-2D RPG and several pieces of optional content. The Steam version is tied to App ID 3259780, with SteamDB recording another update on September 9 as achievement data circulated through tracking sites. A separate PlayStation trophy listing now shows 40 trophies in total, giving players an unusually detailed look at the game’s progression more than a month before launch.

The clearest new detail is the length of the main story structure. Eight separate achievements are awarded for completing Chapters 1 through 8, with titles including “A Journey Begins,” “Those Who Unite the Skies,” “Olderion Blues,” “Viva la Revolución,” “In Search of the Truth,” “And the Winner Is…,” “Past Glory” and “Aspiration’s End.” While those names do not spell out major plot events directly, several are descriptive enough that players trying to avoid story hints may want to skip the full list.

The achievements also confirm substantial progression outside the eight main chapters. “Those Who Defy Fate” requires unlocking every party member, while “Conscience Renewed” is earned by completing all party-member substories. That suggests the supporting cast will have dedicated narrative content beyond their involvement in the central campaign, although the achievement list does not reveal how many characters ultimately join Rain’s party.

Several familiar Final Fantasy vehicles and exploration systems also receive dedicated achievements. “Kweh!” is unlocked by obtaining a chocobo, while “Airship Enterprise” requires acquiring an airship. Square Enix has already promoted chocobos and airships as returning franchise elements, but their appearance in the achievement progression confirms players will actively unlock them rather than encountering them solely as background elements.

Optional combat appears to be another significant part of Resonance. Three achievements cover clearing the Fledgling, Brawler and Gladiator Leagues in the Colosseum, establishing at least three distinct tiers of arena progression. Square Enix’s official material had already identified the Colosseum as one of the game’s major side activities, alongside powerful optional enemies and legendary equipment, but the achievements give a clearer idea of how that content is divided.

The list also references an area called Oblivion Palace. “Princess’s Reward” requires receiving a reward there for the first time, while “Memento” asks players to help an enigmatic princess regain her second memory. Those descriptions introduce a specific side objective that Square Enix has not heavily emphasized in its broader marketing, although the achievements alone do not reveal whether the palace is tied to the main story or an optional questline.

Completionists will have considerably more to chase beyond story chapters. Achievements require defeating every Cave Master, obtaining all Twelve Legendary Arms, unlocking every Vision and gaining assistance from all Espers. Other progression goals include maximizing the Mastery Rank of multiple Visions, awakening a Vision to its limit, spending 100,000 gil and earning a total of one million gil.

Aileen also appears to have an equipment-crafting role. One achievement is awarded for having her craft a weapon for the first time, while another requires crafted weapons for every party member. Elsewhere, players can upgrade something called Mechabo to its ultimate form, and a late achievement specifically names Ultima Weapon as a boss that can be defeated.

Several of those systems have already appeared in Square Enix’s official presentation of the game. Final Fantasy Resonance uses Visions based on characters from across the series, with players exploiting weaknesses, staggering enemies and triggering Resonance attacks during turn-based battles. The recently released Final Fantasy Resonance demo includes the entire first chapter and transferable save data, while Sephiroth has also been revealed as a challenge encounter.

Final Fantasy Resonance launches October 22, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and Windows through the Microsoft Store, with the Steam release scheduled slightly later in some regions. Square Enix describes the game as an extensively rebuilt adaptation of the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius rather than a direct port. With the full achievement list now circulating, players hoping to enter the eight-chapter adventure without knowing its optional objectives may want to avoid trophy databases until launch.
