Fortnite v42.20 Leak Reveals Sprite Mastery Rewards

Fortnite’s v42.20 files reportedly reveal the next stretch of Chapter 7 Season 4’s Sprite Mastery reward track, including XP, Sprite Dust, extraction items and an encrypted Outfit for players who master 28 Sprites. Dataminer FireMonkey uncovered the progression from the new update files, identifying the final cosmetic as Radicali. Epic Games has confirmed that the Sprite Mastery track expands over time, but it has not publicly detailed this complete reward list.

According to FireMonkey’s updated findings, the newly added progression includes rewards beginning at 15 mastered Sprites and continuing through the 28-Sprite milestone. Mastering 15 Sprites reportedly awards 5,000 Sprite Dust, while the 16-Sprite milestone currently appears to grant nothing. Players reaching 17 Sprites get 40,000 XP, followed by five Spicy Tacos at 18, three Extraction Accelerators at 19 and another 40,000 XP at 20.

The later milestones continue with utility items and progression currency. FireMonkey lists three Extraction Accelerators for 22 mastered Sprites, 40,000 XP for 23 and two Portable Extractors for 24. Reaching 25 reportedly awards two Llama Supply Drops, followed by 5,000 Sprite Dust at 26 and another 40,000 XP at 27. No reward was included for 21 Sprites in FireMonkey’s consolidated post, so it is unclear whether that milestone is intentionally empty or simply not represented in the data he surfaced.

The largest reward appears at 28 mastered Sprites. FireMonkey initially described the encrypted cosmetic using the placeholder-like name “Retro Blade,” before a later post identified the reward as the Radicali encrypted skin. Because the Outfit remains encrypted, Epic has not yet publicly presented its full in-game model through the mastery track, and the reward should still be treated as a datamined discovery until it becomes visible in Fortnite itself.

Radicali is not completely unknown to Fortnite players. The character appeared in artwork associated with Fortnite Festival earlier in the season, leading to speculation that the design would eventually become a playable Outfit. The v42.20 mastery data now provides a possible route for that release, potentially making Radicali the capstone reward for players who complete the expanded Sprite collection rather than a conventional Item Shop cosmetic.

Epic introduced the current Sprite Mastery reward track in v42.10, officially saying that players would earn rewards and Gizmos as they mastered additional Sprites. The same update made mastered Sprites cheaper to resummon by cutting their Sprite Dust cost in half and allowed duplicate extractions to contribute XP toward Sprites already owned. Epic also said that each subsequent update would expand the mastery reward track.

Sprite Dust has consequently become increasingly important to Override’s progression systems. Players have already been able to obtain additional currency through Lobby Hacks, including the DustInTheWind code for 5,000 Sprite Dust, while other story-related rewards have also distributed the currency. The leaked mastery milestones would add another 10,000 Sprite Dust across the 15- and 26-Sprite rewards alone.

The progression also fits Epic’s broader effort to make collecting and mastering Sprites a long-term activity throughout Override. Earlier leaks outlined additional Sprite-focused events and Mastery activities, while v42.10 added new variants and quality-of-life improvements designed to make completion easier. A high-value Outfit at 28 mastered Sprites would give players a more substantial reason to continue filling out their collections.

Epic has additionally confirmed that v42.20 adds an arcade-themed Back Bling capable of displaying mastered Sprites. That cosmetic is separate from the Radicali reward described by FireMonkey and forms part of the broader mastery system introduced during Season 4. Together, the Back Bling and leaked Outfit suggest Epic is attaching more permanent cosmetic rewards to Sprite collection rather than limiting mastery to consumable items and progression bonuses.

For now, the milestone values and Radicali reward come from v42.20 datamining rather than an official Epic reward breakdown. Fortnite’s own update notes establish that the Sprite Mastery track will continue expanding, but players should wait for the rewards to appear in-game before treating every leaked milestone as final. If the current data remains unchanged, mastering 28 Sprites will be the major target, with Radicali waiting at the end of the progression path.
