Grand Theft Auto VI reviews are reportedly scheduled to go live on November 18, 2026, just one day before Rockstar Games releases the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date emerged on October 26 through gaming insider NateTheHate, with Insider Gaming subsequently stating that it had independently verified the information. Rockstar has not publicly confirmed the review embargo.

NateTheHate claimed on X that Rockstar Games had begun distributing Grand Theft Auto VI review codes to media outlets. The insider also identified November 18 as the date when critics would be permitted to publish their reviews, giving players a chance to evaluate the game before its November 19 launch.

Insider Gaming independently corroborated the November 18 embargo date in an article published on October 26. The outlet had previously reported on October 14 that GTA 6 reviews would arrive before launch but withheld the preliminary embargo date because it was subject to change.

The new reporting provides a specific date for when players can expect professional assessments of Rockstar’s upcoming open-world game. However, the exact time reviews will become available has not been established by the October 26 reports.

Review-code distribution has also not been officially acknowledged by Rockstar. Although NateTheHate says the process has begun, the publisher has not disclosed which publications have received access or how long reviewers will have to evaluate the game.

The reported schedule would leave approximately 24 hours between the review embargo lifting and the game’s release. For players considering a preorder or waiting for independent impressions, November 18 could provide an opportunity to assess critical feedback before purchasing.

Reviews may also offer the first detailed independent assessments of GTA 6’s gameplay, mission design, open world and console performance. Those findings remain unknown until reviewers are permitted to publish their evaluations.

Rockstar has maintained November 19, 2026, as the official launch date, reinforced by the recently released GTA VI launch trailer, which showcased more of protagonists Jason and Lucia.

The game takes place in Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional version of Florida, and features a return to Vice City. Recent official material has also expanded on Lucia's background and the development of Leonida's world, providing additional context ahead of release.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. While November 18 is now supported by multiple reports as the expected review date, it remains an independently reported embargo rather than an officially announced schedule.
