Saber Interactive, the developer behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, is working on an unannounced AAA first-person shooter built in Unreal Engine 5 and set within an established fictional universe. A recruitment listing from the company’s St. Petersburg office reveals the project’s existence and suggests that multiplayer gameplay could involve both competitive and cooperative elements.
The information comes from a Senior Narrative Designer vacancy published on October 14, 2026. The listing explicitly describes the project as an unannounced AAA FPS taking place in a famous universe, although it does not identify the franchise, publisher or intended release platforms.
The position involves taking ownership of the game’s narrative direction and collaborating with design and writing teams to integrate storytelling into gameplay. Applicants are expected to understand modern player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) multiplayer shooters, alongside having experience working with international development teams.

PvPvE typically combines encounters against other players with computer-controlled enemies or environmental threats. The requirement provides a potential indication of the project’s multiplayer direction, but the listing does not confirm specific game modes, extraction mechanics or whether PvPvE will be the primary gameplay format.
Saber also lists experience developing PC and console games and proficiency with Unreal Engine Blueprints as desirable qualifications. However, the job advertisement does not establish which platforms the new shooter will support.
The unidentified project has attracted speculation because of Saber’s previously announced partnership with Hasbro.
In February 2025, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks announced that the two companies were collaborating on a AAA game based on one of Hasbro’s major intellectual properties. The project was assigned to the team responsible for Space Marine 2, with plans to combine single-player action, multiplayer gameplay and Saber’s Swarm technology.
Hasbro did not disclose which franchise would receive the adaptation. Transformers and G.I. Joe are among the company’s recognizable properties, leading to speculation that the newly identified FPS could be connected to one of them.
However, neither Saber nor Hasbro has confirmed that the St. Petersburg recruitment listing refers to their previously announced collaboration. The shared references to an established fictional universe and multiplayer development are not sufficient to establish that the two projects are identical.
The listing also does not confirm that the new shooter is based on Transformers, despite discussion of that possibility within gaming communities.
Saber’s recruitment activity comes as other established developers continue assembling teams for major Unreal Engine shooters. Behaviour Interactive is also recruiting for an unannounced AAA science-fiction FPS, with its own listings emphasizing realistic visuals and character animation.
For Saber’s project, the most concrete details remain its AAA scope, first-person perspective, Unreal Engine 5 development and connection to a recognizable fictional universe. The emphasis on PvPvE expertise suggests multiplayer systems are relevant to development, while the senior narrative position indicates that storytelling is another important component.
Saber Interactive has not publicly announced the game’s name, gameplay features, release window or supported platforms. Until the company reveals further details, its relationship to the Hasbro partnership and the identity of the underlying franchise remain unconfirmed.
