Sonic PICO PARK will launch on November 12, 2026, bringing Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends into TECOPARK’s cooperative puzzle series. Nintendo confirmed the release date during its September 9 Direct for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, while the game is also listed for PC through Steam. TECOPARK’s subsequent announcement also lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions for the same date.

The crossover keeps the basic cooperative structure that defines PICO PARK while rebuilding its stages around Sonic mechanics. Groups of two to eight players must work together to reach the goal at the end of each stage, with progress depending on coordination rather than simply reaching the finish individually. Local and online multiplayer are both supported, and the PC version additionally confirms cross-play.

Sonic mechanics are incorporated directly into the puzzle design rather than being limited to character skins. Every playable character can use Sonic’s Spin Dash, while stages include familiar series elements such as rings, loops and springs. Nintendo’s announcement showed Sonic alongside characters including Tails, Knuckles and Amy as groups move through compact 2D stages designed to require cooperation.

That setup builds on the formula established by the original PICO PARK. Its stages typically give players simple objectives, such as obtaining a key and reaching an exit, before introducing obstacles that cannot be solved by one person alone. Players may need to stack characters, synchronize movement, activate switches or use one another to navigate hazards, making communication a central part of the experience.

Sonic PICO PARK was first announced earlier in 2026 as a collaboration between the PICO PARK series and Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. TECOPARK is developing the game, while PICO PARK Inc. is listed as its publisher on Steam. The November announcement now establishes a firm release date after the game previously carried only a broader launch window.

The Steam listing also confirms that all content can be played with any supported group size between two and eight players. Online sessions allow as many as seven local players on one PC to join another player over the internet, giving groups some flexibility in how they assemble a full eight-person team. Cross-play should further reduce platform restrictions when organizing online sessions.

The crossover arrives during Sonic’s 35th anniversary year, which has produced several new releases and collaborations involving Sega’s mascot. Rather than adapting an existing Sonic platformer, Sonic PICO PARK places the characters inside a game built specifically around multiplayer problem-solving. The familiar movement mechanics therefore become tools that multiple players need to coordinate instead of abilities used primarily for speed.

Nintendo confirmed the Switch versions as part of its September Nintendo Direct, which featured a large number of Switch 2 announcements for the coming months. Sonic PICO PARK joins a busy November lineup for Nintendo’s newer console, with titles including Stellar Blade Complete Edition and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition arriving earlier in the month.

Pricing has not yet been detailed across every platform, and the Steam page still lists the game as unreleased while directing players to wishlist it. TECOPARK has also not provided a complete breakdown of the number of stages or whether additional modes comparable to previous PICO PARK releases will be included. More details are expected before launch.

Sonic PICO PARK releases November 12, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions also announced. The crossover supports two to eight players and combines PICO PARK’s cooperative puzzle structure with Sonic staples including the Spin Dash, rings, springs and loops.
