Nintendo has announced The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert, a worldwide orchestral tour celebrating four decades of music from the series. Revealed during the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, the tour will begin in Tokyo on January 23, 2027 before expanding across North America, Europe and Australia. Nintendo says the performances will combine nostalgic pieces from earlier Zelda games with music from more recent entries.
Japan currently has the most detailed schedule. The opening show takes place at Tokyo Garden Theater on January 23, followed by Fukuoka Civic Hall on February 6 and Sapporo Cultural Arts Theater Hitaru on March 3. Kyoto’s ROHM Theatre will host performances on April 3 and 4, before the initial Japanese schedule concludes at K-Arena Yokohama in Kanagawa on April 27.
The North American leg begins in Chicago on February 22 at Symphony Center, with another Chicago performance scheduled for February 23. Further announced dates include three Seattle shows at Benaroya Hall from July 16-18 and two performances at Houston’s Jones Hall for the Performing Arts on July 23 and 24. San Francisco is also scheduled to receive a concert at Davies Symphony Hall in October, although an exact date has not yet been announced.
Europe begins with two performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall on April 3 and 4. Stockholm is scheduled for June 18 and 19, while UK dates later in the year include Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on September 17 and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on September 18. Nintendo says additional cities and countries will be announced, so the currently published schedule does not represent the complete tour.
Australia’s opening run begins at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on May 13 and continues through May 16. Sydney follows in July, with the Sydney Opera House hosting a July 9 performance and two shows on July 10. The Australian dates make the anniversary concert one of Nintendo’s more extensive international music events tied directly to the Zelda series.
Nintendo introduced the concert during a section of the anniversary Direct focused on Zelda’s musical history. The presentation included a specially arranged 40th Anniversary Triforce Medley accompanied by footage spanning the series, offering an example of the orchestral treatment planned for the tour. Nintendo describes the concert programme as covering both older themes and modern compositions rather than concentrating on a single Zelda game.
Ticket sales are expected to begin later in September, although on-sale dates will vary between venues. Nintendo has directed fans to the official concert website for individual locations, dates and ticketing information, with further stops still to be added. Prices have not been standardized globally and will depend on the venue and region.
The tour forms part of a much larger anniversary programme Nintendo unveiled during the September 8 presentation. That includes the Zelda 40th Anniversary Nintendo Switch 2, which launches October 29 alongside themed accessories, as well as new merchandise, amiibo and anniversary activities at the Nintendo Museum. Nintendo is also preparing its Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2, scheduled for November 5.
The anniversary celebrations will continue into 2027 beyond the concert series. Nintendo also used the presentation to discuss The Legend of Zelda live-action movie, which is scheduled to reach theaters worldwide on April 30, 2027. That means the concert tour will be running across multiple regions during the same period that Nintendo expands Zelda into film and other anniversary projects.
