Several original Xbox games have reportedly started appearing in achievement lists on Xbox consoles, potentially offering an early glimpse of Microsoft’s upcoming achievement support for backward-compatible titles. Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans and Star Wars Republic Commando are among the games shown in screenshots shared by Xbox users.

The sightings emerged through social media posts dated October 22, 2026, including screenshots shared by X user @xgramiliki. The images appear to show original Xbox titles listed in the console’s achievement interface, although the entries currently display “0/0” achievements rather than individual objectives or Gamerscore values.

The listings do not establish that achievements are functional or that the affected games have been officially selected for the feature. They could reflect preliminary changes to Xbox’s achievement system, but an unintended appearance of existing game records has not been ruled out.

Microsoft officially announced plans to introduce achievements for select original Xbox games on July 22, 2026, alongside the launch of Xbox Backward Compatibility on PC.

In that announcement, Xbox vice president Jason Ronald confirmed that achievement support would arrive later in 2026 for selected titles on both consoles and PC.

The initial PC backward compatibility lineup consists of Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and Fuzion Frenzy. Microsoft specifically confirmed that all four games would receive achievement support in the months following their PC debut.

Unlike those four officially confirmed titles, Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans and Star Wars Republic Commando have not been announced as achievement-supported games. Their appearance in the screenshots therefore raises questions about whether Microsoft is preparing to extend the feature to a wider selection of backward-compatible releases.

Achievement support would introduce a feature that was absent when the original Xbox launched in 2001. Microsoft’s achievement system debuted with the Xbox 360 in 2005, meaning original Xbox games were developed without native achievement tracking.

The planned addition forms part of Microsoft’s broader effort to expand access to older games. Its PC backward compatibility initiative already allows selected original Xbox releases to run on Windows 11 PCs and compatible handhelds, with features including resolution scaling and additional graphics settings.

Elsewhere, efforts to keep the original console’s library accessible have continued through community projects, including the restoration of Burnout 3's original Xbox online multiplayer through Insignia.

Microsoft has not confirmed an exact launch date for original Xbox achievements or published a complete list of supported games. Until functional achievement lists become available or the company provides further details, the newly observed entries remain an unconfirmed indication of possible preparations for the rollout.
